Just asked a couple of others if that see them when they log on. They said they could see them no problem.

If someone is just simply "no longer one of Jehovah's witnesses", then we shouldn't have to treat them any different than 99% of the people we talk to and interact with every day.
No it doesn't work that way.
If you are a Jehovah's Witness , then you are announced as "no longer a Jehovah's Witness" to them you do not become as the 99% of other people. You are a person who was once a JW therefore has turned your back on the WT and you will be treated as such. You are a traitor, an apostate, dead, not deserving of any association with those who are still JW's..

JW's on trick or treat night
by carla inhow did your jw families appreciate people knocking on your doors on trick or treat night?
ever answer the door and tell them how pagan they were?
we had one jw house that used to be totally dark except for the porch light so we could read their sign- we are jw's and do not celebrate halloween.

Jw's don't like Halloween, because they don't like strangers knocking on their doors.

How did the Jews manage a 365.25-day year with their 360-day calender?
by dorayakii inthere are actually about 365.25 (or 365 1/4) days in each year.
with the gregorian calender that most of the "western" world now uses, we add a day to february every 4 years to ensure that the seasons are always in synch with the months.
we call this the "leap-day" and it is added to the "leap-year".

The Israelites used the lunar year which is 360 days. Every so often they had to insert an extra month to bring it back in ine with the solar year.
The JW in their working out of the time for the 2,520 years from 607bce to 1914ce used the lunar year of 360 days.
If you convert 2,520 years to days (2530x360) you get 907,200 days. If you then count those days from say 1st September 607bce you would end up at September 1878.

Biblical Prophetic Years of 360 days in length
by VM44 init is taken as an axiom by the jehovah's witnesses and the adventists that a biblical prophetic year is 360 days in duration.
but what is the origin of this idea?.
the bible itself does not define a "prophetic year" of 360 days, or any other number of days.. so where did the concept of a 360 day prophetic year come from?.

I have a question.
by corproal in.
my sister in law was just reproved the other day and my question is ,is this just like being disfellowshipped except in this case she isn't baptised into the cult ooops i mean the truth?.
the reason given by her is that she went on a date with a witness and the young spiritually strong man asked her to masturbate.she reported it to the elders and was formally reproved at the next meeting.i have to point out that she's had issues in the past with mental illness and fornication .. craig

There are probably many ex-JW's out there who we will never know of. If it wasn't for the Internet many of us on here would never have known of other ex-JW's existence. There must be many who left years ago that we do not know about.
I seem to recall a while ago that someone had worked out from past WT reports taking into account baptisms and that no one left. The number of JW's should be about 12 million today. As they number about 6 and a quarter million today. Does this mean there are approx an equal number of ex-JW's as there are JW's today.
Our mission, (should you accept it, Jim) is to make sure that the number of JW's decreases or at best slow it growth down substantially.

To put it simply every so often they inserted a 13th month into the calendar.
If you don't want to look at a WT publication. Just check a Jewish website that deals with calendars.
