  according to the 2009 edition of the yeabook of american and canadian churches, jehovah's christian witnesses are once again the fastest group in the united states.

  meanwhile the roman cathollic church and the southern baptist convention lost thousands of members.

  while the growht rate of the witnesses was 2.12%, based mainly on those that actively preach the good news, it was the highest growth percentage when compared to other groups.

  I got propositioned a few times in my younger days.

  I knew of brother who when on field service would disappear occasionally. It was later found that he had a couple lady friends. Who he did more than "study" with.

  Another brother would often say he was taking the latest magazines to some guy he was calling on. Turned out he was having a gay affair with the guy.

  Looks like you pulled the trigger.

  You never succeed on JWD so you had to find others you could take in with your pseudo-dating of 607BCE.

  you accumulate additional wives through attrition or serial monogamy.

  i didn't want to threadjack, so i started a separate thread.. do you get all the previous wives back in the afterlife?.

  i recently read you get your own family in the afterlife, to share with your 4+ wives and spirit children.

  I came across the following on another forum by an ex-Mormon.

  According to Mormon theology , a male member who lives together with a female member without being married, are subject to disciplinary action from the church and cannot enter the Temple and be sealed for all eternity as husband and wife.

  If this couple however get married, and therefore become lawfully husband and wife, if they show that they are members in a good standing with the church, they can receive a recomendation from their bishop and stake president to enter the Temple and be sealed as husband and wife.

  Imagining that down the road these beautiful Mormon couple would end up their realtionship and therefore get divorced, anyone who does not know the church would imagine that their Temple sealing would also be broken or annulated. However that does not happen and the church (unless in extrem cases) encourages the couple to keep their Temple sealing as an important ordinance and will only be broke if they find another partner form the church, gets married and are ready to be sealed to him as well.

  So in another words this is in a very simple short sentence what Mormon doctrine says:

  An unmarried couple cannot be sealed in the Temple

  yet

  An unmarried couple can be sealed in the Temple.

  To me it sounds an exact opposite being taken and treated equally.

  i can remember a "worldly" schoolmate telling me he wouldn't object to the religion so much if the name didn't sound so weird..

  A counting time question

  i was wondering, if a jw gets into a conversation say with 3 people for 30 minutes does the jw get to count an hour and half?

  or how does that work when it is not traditional fs?.

  i was thinking back to a friend who worked with a jw and they worked with their hands so it allowed much conversation at work.

  If one JW speaks to a non-JW for 30 mins , they can count 30 mins preaching time.

  If TWO JWs speak to a non-JW for 30 mins , they can count 30 mins each, therefore 1 hour of preaching done in 30 mins ??

  How would you answer this statement?

  it was during the reign of zedekiah when nebuchadnezzer destroyed jerusalem, & the bible does accurately describe the succession of the kings of judah.

  this is a statement that my grandma said to make a point that we can verify the date of 607bce as the correct date for the fall of jerusalem.

  how would you answer this statement?.
