  JW TV is the reason for the hysteria in the KH

  if you, like me, have noticed the sudden increase in hysteria in the khs right now, i put it down to that jw tv site.

  its's far more extensive than i thought it was, i thought it was just 1, 1 hour program a month.

  there's a s*** load of videos on that site.. and the real problem, from just watching a clip from each video, is that these guys are clearly "mentally unstable".

  The thing is, my parents are nice, I'm not sure if I want to get shunned by them when I leave. The problem is that even though they're good parents, they're mostly brainwashed into 'the truth'. Not that long ago I asked some hypothetical questions about leaving and I believe they wouldn't be very happy with me if I said I wanted to leave the truth.

  Well, I know for a fact that my dad watches porn(even hours after a talk at the KH about porn), so he's probably less into the religion then my mom, but she's completely in. They're really into the JWTV, one of the reasons that watching it annoys me so much is because I have to listen to them talk about how good it is and I have to pretend to like it also so it's not suspicious.

  As for the future, I plan on either going to college at USC, Texas A&M, or the University of Wisconsin if I can get into either of those schools. I'll make up something about wanting to go to college and then pioneer, but I'll probably move across the country afterwards.

  At least most of you are adults who don't have to watch JWTV if you don't like it.

  I get forced to watch it and have to pretend to like it every month for family study and it's like water boarding for your brain.

  Why would they bother lying though? They're not trustworthy but I don't think they'd make up random facts for no reason.

  hello all... i currently studying the bible teach book and i'm just curious what information does the study conductor record about the student and is it passed on??

  and they keep on saying "the truth" which is starting to get on my nerves.

  I highly recommend you don't join or study with them. It's a cult and if you try and act like a normal human being you'll get kicked out.

  "my husband's not gay" a special airing on january 11 follows a group of mormon men who say they are happily married and attracted to their wives but are attracted to men also .

  whhaaaaattt !!!!.

  first of all don't mormons look down on the gay lifestyle, and they also shun members like jws do.. well, all i can say is i'm waiting for jw version of this show, if they're featuring mormons, the dubs must be next !.

  during one of those meetings that took place before my jc, one of the elders, who was a good friend of mine back then and used to come up with a few outlandish personal views about some teachings, attempted to counter one of my arguments like this:.

  eden - "well, if the truth doesn't change, why is it that what we teach as 'truth' has changed over the years (several examples given)?

  how can we dogmatically claim at any given moment that we have 'the truth' if our teachings keep changing?".

  There isn't really a counter to Elders considering most of them make up things as they go along. It's pretty funny actually if you think about some of the stuff they say.

  i took a hiatus from jwn because the wall started to collapse because i lost several people ive known almost my entire life.

  these were people i thought would never die, the lies told by the watchtower is unforgivable!

  there was a party i attended keeping a low profile while documenting what was said.

  As someone who is a teen stuck in, I think the thing about teenagers leaving isn't that accurate, at least in the congregations near me. Usually most of the ones getting baptized every year are teenagers.

  To be fair though, I've heard of other places where things are different, and there's still adults leaving. But I don't think the Watchtower will crumble any time soon.

  Could a JW be DF for celebrating Festivus?

  after all, it's a secular holiday not a religious holiday.. if i was still an active member, i think i would start a new tradition of celebrating festivus.

  most likely no jws would come, but that's okay, it's a famiily holiday anyway.. what grounds would the elders have to disfellowship you?.

  They don't need a reason, as stated before. I'm pretty sure Holidays aren't a disfellowshipping offense though.

  Those of you stuck in with kids&question about spouse

  it is killing me now that i am awake, having kids in school and having to be jws.

  birthdays, christmas, thanksgiving, having to go home or be left out because their teachers know they are witnesses and/or have kids from the school in their class or grade.

  it's a small town so the other jws in the hall know what's going on since their kids are in the same school.

  From a teen stuck in I know what your kids are going through. The only advice I have is to keep them off jw.org and try and teach them about TTATT so they won't get brainwashed. Especially keep them away from the Young People Ask books, which are specifically made to brainwash kids.

  after the propaganda indoctrination session, a relative asked me what my spiritual goals were, i told em i want to become a servant before i turn 23 so i could get laid.
