i've never written down my story and it could be a jerry springer episode but here goes.

i was raised as a jehovah's witness from as early as i can remember.

Welcome chip! Thanks for sharing your experience! There seems to be many people raised as witnesses who turned out gay, myself included. I got myself involved with a brother 10 years older than me when i was 17 and pioneering. It was all quite messy as the age limit of consent hadnt been lowered to 16 at that point and had things really spiralled he would have been reported as a sex offender. But there was another lad who confessed to me he was gay and there were 5 others who were also gay in the same congregation who were trying to playing it straight.

Redditch in the west midlands boasted 4 congregations. They built a double kingdom hall there for them. Now, the congregations decreased massively in size. They disbanded the one congregation and are now trying to keep alive three small congregations - this they are doing by sending other publishers from other congregations (such as from the evesham congregations) to join them.

so i am the weird case that i still believe in the jehovah's organization.

Hello dewey79. I was raised and baptised into the Jehovah's witness religion. However, from the age of 11 I began to realise that I was gay and suppressed it whilst getting baptised and serving as a pioneer. I eventually decided to leave the religion when I was 22 and was disfellowshipped 2 years later for being in a gay relationship. My 88 Year Old Mom Is Going To Special Meeting Today And Shouldn't!

my mom only goes out for doctor's visits.

they are "encouraging" her to spend three hours to hear the annual meeting at the kh.

she is on oxygen and can barely move.

i work in a village called drakesbroughton in between pershore and worcester in worcestershire.

its a large village with about 400 homes.

recently it turned into a no cold calling zone and someone in the village ordered stickers for every household saying "no cold callers, no surveys, no canvassers and no religious callers.

Recently it turned into a no cold calling zone and someone in the village ordered stickers for every household saying "no cold callers, no surveys, no canvassers and NO RELIGIOUS CALLERS. Nearly every property in the village now has this sign on the door or in the window. What a fantastic thing to do! It certainly stops the jws from calling. If we could find the opportunity to do the same in our own areas then it certainly would disrupt the preaching activity! Food for thought.

also, no one, not even the cobe knows what the subject matter is yet.. everyone here should be ashamed of themselves for making the glorious ones in brooklyn more secretive than opus dei or the freemasons!!

I told my Jw mum tonight about this begging arrangment that's going to be happening at the meeting soon for the new bethel build and she was horrified. I asked her how much she was going to pledge and she said "5p" followed by "they shouldn't be asking us for money. If they haven't got the finances for it then they shouldn't build it ." I love my mum.

Hi matt! And welcome! I'm an exjw from Evesham Hampton congregation just up the road from you! I became inactive straight after reading crisis of conscience back in 2011,when I was 22. They disfellowshipped me the following year at Christmas 2012. I'm like u, agnostic atheist yet still hooked on Jw news and occasionally still do some personal bible study.
