  have you ever seen a full-grown elephant weighing thousands of pounds chained to a small stake in the ground when you visited a circus?

  did it ever enter your mind and make you wonder how such a small stake in the ground could hold such a huge animal from straying outside the boundaries of the length of its chain and stake?

  Stickers against Jehovahs witnesses

  in malta in 1980s the catholic church issued a yellow sticker telling jehovahs witnesses not to knock on their door.

  this was distributed with all the parishioners.. i would like to know if others countries had this in place before the 1980s especially maybe italy and ireland?.

  imagine if all the governing body resigned and a new set of brothers came in and said we are very very sorry for all those who have been disfellowshipped and disassociated over the years.

  we know many mistakes have been made.

  we are really genuinely sorry to all those who have been hurt and especially those who have died and been hurt by these mistakes.

  There is a trailer park full of paroled child molesters 10 miles from me. Going back to Watchtower is as likely as my buying a keg of beer to share with the child molesters.

  "What Happened to reading the Watchtower and Awake as good as getting a college degree?"

  As a kid, if mom saw me reading ANYTHING not JW, she would ask:" Have you read all the latest magazines!?" ...my answer:"Nope". She would then make that often-heard the b.s. statement: "....as good as a college degree." lol Of course within the week she would also say how lying was a sin god hates. Talk about cognitive dissonance.

  no doubt everyone has been following the juan viejo postings regarding the watchtower kingdom hall "grab" on jwn for the last couple of years.

  called the mrs and me to say "wow- you have to google this" we did...came here to jwn ...became members..and the rest is history.. in the last nine months i have been calling and emailing contacts in the silicon valley for verification on the societies theft and forced sale of the menlo park kingdom hall (near the new facebook heaquarters) because the story seemed...a little far fetched.

  every reliable contact i made has confirmed what juan reported.

  Diogenesister, Yes, the Menlo Park Kingdom Hall, was within blocks of Meta/Facebook headquarters, and Stanford University, backed up to US 101(the deciding line between a poor black neighborhood and affluent west Menlo Park and west Palo Alto -ground zero for historical Silicon Valley.

  Bill Covert's story is about an event 4 hrs north of Menlo Park in rural Northern California.

  I have been trying to follow up on the Menlo Park situation. If anyone has updates please fill us in.

  The sincere and simple original Menlo Park Elders who mistakingly thought the KH Hall land grab was by some unscrupulous local elders with shady pasts, were gobsmacked to learn orders came straight from NEW YORK Bethel....too late...to avoid their "secret disfellowshipping".

  The results? Heartbreak, poverty, and divorce. Ex-Elder Cobb's wife was counseled to leave her "Apostate" husband by local Elders. I can not locate him online. :(

  Ex-Elder Arlen St Clair's son borrowed his car, only to be closely tailed by an Employee of a local "Elder" (Security director), which turned into a high-speed chase, his being forced off the road, and an injury accident. St Clair's son was hospitalized for days for his injuries. The son was quite shaken and moved from the area.

  Ex-Elder, St Clair, alone and broken in his 70s, fell from a roof while washing windows a few years ago. A sad end to a kind and gentle man
