anyone who is a witness or was previously a witness, is aware of the written & un-written rules concerning association with disfellowshipped family members.. there are a multitude of quotes through out the watchtower publications, but these 2 will suffice.. "are you proving yourself holy by not associating with family members or others who are disfellowshipped?

that means that we have to stay away from them... the bible says that apostates are mentally diseased and that they use their teachings to make others think like them... what must we do to avoid false teachers?

the people that i have know to be disfellowshiped were df becasue they were drinking to cope with depression, lonely and desperate for affection, or not living 'up' to someones standards.

some elderly governing body members have a bad way of using thier odd sense of humor, they try to be funny and end up doing more damage.
they should probably have never gotten into the limelight.

and they left the congregations, would you then feel open to be thier friends?.
many on here have the same complaint, that in the jw congregations, there were clickes, no one had time for each other,.
people judged, there was a lack of association, freindship , true concern and love were lacking.
id say born ins who leave will have a much harder time finding acceptable friendships due to the learned high standards for people in general.
so Id say for me, im not going to turn all 'worldly' like as far as swearing up a storm though i do the hell and dam bit, and id never go back to smoking
it stinks and would flare up my allergies plus who can afford it. id not choose to be freinds with smokers for that reason, and i wouldnt choose certain types of people who i have no common intrests, like im not into country music, or hard rock, or beer, or football, or guns or tatoos, long hair,
or motorcycles. being so used to suited men and better dressed ladies, its hard t osee myself with those who dress farmer like.
id naturally gravitate to buisness like people into the arts, or, politics or golf clubs or sales people. as for the holidays?
I wont go all chrstmas thats for sure, but i will go to any party or event im invited to.
right now, the only people whom i associate with is my boring tv loving husband which isnt grand in any sense of the word, and my daughter occationally.
i have no job right now, hard to get one at my age with no education.
so i dont get out to meet people. so its going to be difficult for me at age 52, to find any freinds.

my sister nearly named her daughter Trinity, my jw mom had a cow when she thought she was,
so she named her setona, but she wanted to spell it satana! I told her oh God mom will die, lol. so i told her to use other letters
now she gets the nic name tona.
during my final few years being active with the jws i noticed that the vast majority of people who were studying or joining the group in general where those that the rest of society would consider disabled and/or severely mentally ill. now by disabled i dont mean i lost my leg in nam kind of disabled... in some cases these people were mentally retarded, had the minds of children, were severely abused as children or even as adults and as a result had personality disorders that put them on the edge of society.... and then we had the full on crazies... about 15 years ago one of the brothers who worked at the local welfare office somehow started a study with a person who was a paranoid schizophrenic.
he met her because she was a client of the welfare office.
she got handed off to a sister who studied with her, then started driving her to her doctors appointments, and to get grocerys, and took her to congregation events.
on the positive side of it however, those who have been mentally troubled with the stress of life who has no one to help them, cult or not, sometimes they at leas t have something to look forward to once or twice a week, and thats getting out of the house and to a meeting. it give them self worth and they feel wanted. for some this can save their sanity. cult or not.
there must be a real balancing act, not letting those ones bleed you of your energy, while at the same time studying with them and getting them to meetings. they think they are servng God, well so be it. but there are unfortunately those who should not be expected to go out door to door.
at all . I dont think the jws should have ever stated that door to door is a requirement, it should have been a choice. and no one should have been judged less faithfull for it if they did not.
on another note, in my opinion children have no buisness being in door to door service.

what concerned me, when i saw how many mentally challenged people went to one congregation in florida that i visited,
was what results are there going t be having these people go out in service? they cannot teach, all they can do is hand out magazines and read a scripture. they are embaressing in returaunts, no fault of thier own, but why so we have to go to a resturaunt in meeting clothes with them? why cant it be in normal clothes. people already say retarded jws around here.
they should not be required nor placed with such a burden[or burdening everyone else more so] of doing teaching work when they theseves have problems. its stupid.
its not very appealing to have a handicapped person in the car that you have to go through 5 minuets of helping them out of the car while sitting in the middle of the driveway or street, with on lookers, so they can be helped up to a door to stand there and just knock.
its slows every one else down. its foolish. its all done so they can cunt hours to report to teh society and members to add to teh number,.
jws will study wit h anyone no matter how handycapped they are, and study with the elderly alzheimers people in nursng homes just to get hours. its a waste of time.
then there are the older ones who are past the ability to properly care for thier appearence , cant pull on panty hose anymore, comb or wash their hair, eeww veiny legs craked toes hanging off sandles, and dry skin, and really bad breath,
who are still going out door to do that look like bag ladies nad homeless people, its out right embaressing to these poor souls.
they also cannot hold down a study. so whats the point? [and some are still doing talks!! why???]
they are babblin on nonsense and making the home owner uncomfortable, ive been there. the home owners take the mags just to get rid of them. then guess what, a place ment and a return visit, add it up. make the numbers look grand , all for nothing.
we have a huge amount of people in our area who will study with wittnesses just to have a social life. and a ride somplace.
they are poor often have no transportation, and have no money. they depend on the people at the hall to get them proper meeting clothes and often even more, plus pick them up. they have no cars.
so its not at all that they are doing good works, they cant.
they do not have to do anything, as God knows thier situation and will not expect them to do the works of men.
