  Family Gathering ( or the day also known as Thanksgiving)

  every year on a certain thursday in november my family and close witness friends would get together, eat menudo ( hispanic stew) and other foods, watch football and then get dressed to go to the meeting.. sister so and so would bring her famous pie, bro and sister so and so would bring their gross punch and bro and sis so and so would bring mexican sweet bread.

  sometimes we would go to "worldy" aunt's and pick up plates of turkey and fixins.. this was every year on a certain date, on a certain thursday in november.. this continued until my mom got alzheimers.

  by that time i was married and had my own house.

  I've experineced "JW Thanksgiving" on the Friday after. ( then it's OK )

  Same everything, just 24 hours later, so it's not wrong...

  We were on a family trip one time. About ten of us at a coastal rental house.

  We brought everything to make a traditional turkey dinner.

  It was the week of Thanksgiving and we were going to make the dinner on Thursday.

  My Uber Dub ( Ex bethelite/elder ) nephew started to freak out, as if we were preparing to do devil worship.

  We agreed to make it on Friday. Problem solved.

  Feeling sad over a wasted life in watchtower

  it's been 12 years since i first read ray franz's books and the scales came off my eyes.

  by that time i was in my forties.. since 2002 i went back to school and have worked with 3 very professional organizations.

  but my biological clock is ticking away and while my peers are looking forward to retirement, i am only beginning.

  Out for nearly 2 years, but 25 years was lost.

  It stings. I can't explain how I fell for the deception.
  It's all so clear now. I thought I was smarter than that.

  Mind control is powerful.

  Also starting over in my mid 40's.

  50 seems so close.

  Focus on living a happy life and be there for those that need help.

  this is a rumor i heard back in november, it comes to me third or fourth-hand.

  feel free to poke holes.

  When Tony Morris said: "take it up with God!" in his tight pants talk, he was likely preparing JW's to accept anything.
  I mean really, who want's to "take anything up with God?"

  unconfirmed naturally and just a rumour but at at one assembly this week it was announced that the 6 members of the gb send their love.. .

  Revelation, its Grand Climax.... remember when?

  i remember being at the assembly in 1988?

  when this was released.

  everyone was so excited that we finally had a simple explanation of revelation with pictures.

  Sifting through the KM full of new light was really something on the fourth and final time "studying" that book.

  Literally cutting and pasting the adjustments into our precious books instead of getting the new and revised soft cover version.

  Hey, we had already marked up our previously studied copy.

  We weren't about to start all over again.

  so the governing body likes to keep claiming incredible growth.

  at the same time they claim bible studies are way down.

  are the finally admitting what we've known all along, that they can no longer recruit outsiders?

  i've been a lurker for quite some time and enjoy the forum.

  i've reached a point in life where i don't argue ideologies anymore so i don't have much to say.

  i've been out for decades and believe i've been mostly de-cultabilized (if that's even a word).. my family is still in and i haven't had contact with them in years.
