i'd really like to know if the wts has ever been correct ... in all honesty.
i don't mean subjective, fuzzy dogma that has no empirical basis ... i mean stuff like 1914 and the original idea that it would be end of the world; millions now living will never die; 1975; the generation will not pass away ... ad infinitum.

this subject has been gnawing at me for awhile now.. so many of you:.
1) were raised in "the truth?".
2) did you get baptized and at what age?.
? Born into ?the truth.? Both parents avid/rabid JWs. (Dad 1st generation, mom 2nd.)
? Baptized at 16. I thought at the time that it would be better to be baptized than not to be, just in case there was some hope remaining for me.
? Actually, still in good standing?for now. I?m currently 37 years old. I have to wait and bide my time for another few years until I?m in an adequate financial situation to do a solo fade. (Still living at home. Don?t laugh?it certainly has its financial advantages.)

i don?t know if anyone else recalls this or not, but i remember reading articles in the wt publications about having business dealings with ex-jws and how witnesses should do everything possible to avoid this.
they even stated that if your business partner becomes df?d, you should do everything possible to get out the business (i.e.
buy him out or letting him buy you out).

The society said in no uncertain term that DFed ones are not to be used in buisness matters unless there is unresolved dealing yet to be handled ........and once they are handled, they are to wash their hands of you.
I thought that, according to the NWT Bible, when someone gets disfellowshipped, then, at least in a business sense, they are simply to be dealt with as though they are just another person ?in the world.?

So, how could the Society really have any right, legal or otherwise, to demand JWs to either stop or refrain from any business dealings? If that were the case, then if a JW got a parking ticket from a DF?d cop, then they wouldn?t have to pay it because that would be a type of ?business dealing.?

i talked to my mom on the phone the other day she is a jw, she knows full well what i think of the jw garbage, and i have tried to make her see it, but it's not use, so i don't go on about it much, aside from the occasional comment to see what the reaction will, in good humour of course... anyway, the other day i was struggling to think of topics we could talk about (typical son/mother relationship) so in my usual amused way i asked what she thought about the new view the society had on blood parts... i was expecting something but i didn't know what.... anyway, my mom calmly as if nothing was amiss, told me that it hasn't changed really, and that 'it doesn't matter anyway, because blood was always a conscience matter' now i love my mom, but this blew me away, i know of, and she knows people who have died because of blood, and she would still probably do it, but more to the point, haven't people been df'd for having blood transfusions?
good grief, if blood is a conscience matter and always was, why the hell so many people die and whose conscience lets their kid die?.

Actually, it is true that blood has always been a conscience matter. It?s just that if a person does decide to make up their own mind and actually follow their own conscience, then they will get DF?d.?or, more currently, be DA?d.
(In other words, as JWs we always have been completely free to follow our own conscience in deciding our course of action. But if we do, then the gun pointed at our head will go off . . . . So, we are completely free to do exactly as we are told . . . or else!)

well, i got dragged, kicking and screaming talked in to going to the assembly yesterday as a friend of mine was in the drama.
what a freaking waste of time interesting experience.
first of all, i had a tough time squeezing my larger than life ass bum into a seat that looked like it was made for a house-elf small child.

Am I idolizing them by wearing T-shirts or jackets that advertise such performers, or even by hanging their pictures or posters in my room? Does this please Jehovah, to whom my reverence should go? Am I following the Bible?s plain counsel to "flee from idolatry"? . . .
I would bet that the WTBTS wouldn?t mind if people put up posters in their room of the old fools of the Governing Body! Nothing like a good boudoir shot of Brother Simonis or Brother Schroeder to show your kingdom loyalty!
The way everybody feels compelled to converge on Brooklyn as a sort of expected personal Mecca IMHO seems to be a form of idolatry of the highest order. As for me, I don?t have much in the way of so-called idolatrous posters up in my room, but I sure as hell don?t feel compelled to make any pilgrimage to Brooklyn hoping to get a glimpse of some FDS members so I can kiss their ass! (I hear rumors that they are actually only human.)

i have been calling my kids for some time now.
i am moving far away soon, and since i haven't had any contact with my daughters, i called them to let them know i was moving, and would like to say goodbye, before i flew away.

last week, i took my vehicle to speedy because the brakes got squishy.
i had to leave it with them for the entire week while they fixed my problem.
they charged me $650, and i picked it up yesterday.
