First I'd like to point out that almost everyone on here are ex-JW's.
Secondly, if you are familiar with their errors already, heres some more ammo for your neighborhood JWs:
The word [OTHER] in Colossians 1 in not there in the greek at all-- JW's panel of under 10 people that didn't know Greek, Hebrew or Armaic translated the NWT themselves and changed a lot--including adding the word [other] so they could screw up the meaning of the verses. I'm not making this up :) - check the intro or whatever to their 'bible' and it will tell you anything in []'s is inserted to help the passage "make sense". Try taking the word [other] out and see what the verse seems to say.
"He is the image of the invisible God, the Firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and things on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all thing, and in him all things hold together."
(sorry it's NIV instead of NWT but their 'bible' is in my cults research box at the moment :))

Sunday morning call

ELDERS JUST HERE, and now I'm

was in the middle of sending out some last minute "seasons greetings," cards.
any way, he spoke of the events of the last year, how they were significant, about the brothers going to the trade center and offering comfort from the scriptures, while priests and ministers only offered water and towels, and about the change in subscription arrangement.

I've had to deal with a relative that just gushes over how much love she finds in the organization and how thats proof of the true faith. I had to break the news to her that in the seven years I've been out of the WT and been a Born again Christian that I have visited many and been a member of one terrific church and have found Love in all of them. I then told her, therefore you cannot pick your faith based on how nice other people treat you, otherwise we are both right- which is logically impossible :)
I just want to encourage you that Yahweh truly Loves you and so do we.
Love and friendship and support are all in the true God.
Amen to the scriptures up there :)

I understand how you FEEL.
But would that be FAIR?
Say someone kills your mother but when they catch the man and he comes before the judge for his sentence the judge says,
"Well I know he murdered a woman and I'm sure you miss your mom but I think putting him in prison would be mean and might cramp his style. It was his choice."
Would that be fair?
Consider this:
Assume for a brief second that you believe God exists:
There are 2 places that eternity can be spent according to the Bible:
With God or apart from God.
You get to make the choice. That choice is made when you decide how to spend life here on earth. You either live with God in your life or you don't but when you die you don't get to switch teams.
Would it be fair to God for a person to screw off their whole life, never give him the time of day, get all they want out of life without caring if what they were doing was wrong, and then they die and get to say- 'oh- hi their Yahweh Almighty, I know I didn't care about you when I was alive but now if my other choice is hell- I pick you.'Not to mention the fact that sin cannot approach God in any way, who is absolutely holy. No one can stand before God because we all have sin-- which gets back to him sending Jesus - who never sinned- to die for us so he could cover the whole worlds sin- so that whoever takes/accepts the free gift can be with God.
I'm just writting what the truth is just like the rest of you do according to what you believe. You don't have to agree with me but it's nice if you consider what I write.

Hey guys: Don't think Jesus gets a kick out of knowing some people-- who he created by the way, are going to hell. The bible says hell was created for satan & his angels. Because people choose to reject God they CHOOSE where they want to spend eternity. God doesn't need to send them there- they chose it themselves. I'm not talking about the people who never hear the truth or spend their whole lives lied to and don't get the opportunity -- I'm talking people who have heard the truth and make a willfull decision to not accept it. They have that choice but have to live with the consequences.
Interesting observation:
Why is it that people want OTHER people who commit some huge sin--like send planes crashing into buildings to kill thousands-- to be punished horribly and go to hell but when it comes down to thinking what they've done in life that could deserve hell-- thats unacceptable?
We all deserve hell-no one is pefrect-- that's why out of his love for us God sent his own son to die for us.
May sound preachy but I don't like it when people think God is some big meanie waiting to zap sinners when thats not what the Bible says. -

After all that commentary up there this answer seems to be comming out of no where but both are right :)
We are supposed to watch and pray and understand world events -- so many are fulfilling prophecy it's hard to ignore them.
We should ,however, remember that the time is unknown so trying to predict the second comming of Christ is wrong and will always fail.
The JW's tried to predict the end of the world at least 8 times and failed miserably.
According to the Bible, Jesus will return. We don't know when but we can watch and pray.
