Clearing Junk from the WT Years
by core injust binned my last papers from the wt years - been in a corner of my study for some years now but time to take another step forward and destry all the evidence of wasted years - lots of old stuff, programmes from assemblies back to the late 50's why did we keep such useless **** anyway ???
) , elders meeting notes etc and a copy of the constitution the society forced on uk congs in the late 90s - just reading it shows how in control the centre really is - also binned old wt cds - one set from 1997 never opened - that was the time we "saw the light" and never looked at a wt book/cd again - have you all got rid of the "junk" or did you hold onto it for years / still got it ?

How would you answer?
by bagpuss ini have just started reading 'reasoning from the scriptures with jehovahs witnesses' by ron rhodes.. one of the suggested questions to ask a jw is,.
if jehovahs witnesses are the only true witnesses for god,and if the witnesses as an organization came into being late in the 19th century, does this mean that god was without a witness forover 18 centuries of church history?.
can anyone remember the 'official' line on this and if you had been asked this as a jw how would you have responded?

I was told the catholic chruch was for a while. Then they strayed, and that's when the bible students rose. If the catholic church had kept to the truth, then they would have been his organization today.

Emotional tension release
by greendawn inwhen you feel emotionally tense how do you release the tension?
by laughing, socialising, playing computer games, or some other way?
for me it's humour really funny ideas come to mind and make me laugh a lot, also by doing some sport such as swimming, listening to nice music and of course by socialising.

I love Halo, but it gives me more frustration than it relieves, because I'm so bad at it and I blow myself up with the rocket launcher regularly.
I think it's a great game. Since you're not allowed to beat your children anymore, I just blow them up in the video game. They have never raised their hand to me, but like to blow me up too. They will ambush me. Good clean, kill each other, family time.

I have to get up early in the morning for the convention. Bawhahaha, sorry had to go there. Seriously, I am home with the kids, and watching Leno. Excitment never ends in my house.

The board is better because the "love of the greater number has cooled off".
That's funny. We are fewer in number, that proves we have god's blessing ::::chuckling to self::::: That just struck me so funny.

So good to hear your story. Your mom sounds like my mom. Alienating people, and then sad that she doesn't have people to talk to and count on. That's a tough situation for you. I would think, when the time comes, your mom will talk to the elders, and they will say it's okay to live with/rely on your daughter because you have no choice. Who knows, all the elders are different. And I'm glad for your dad that he has the joy that you arent' a JW anymore. Welcome to the board.
Sounds like my Mom as well. They told my mom that she isn't a true widow, because she has children. (whatever) As long as she has my brother (who is D'A) and me, she has someone to rely on/take care of her. So the elders may very well tell her that it's ok to live with you. I was still going to the meetings when my Dad passed. Wish I did it while he was still alive. Mine would have be happy too.
