hope all is well :) i know i havent posted much or atall really so sorry about that im just needing a little help i am i8 years old......., im just wondering because i am curretly friends with jw's and stuff (im not babtised though) and they keep sayng to me about the prohecies in the bible like the bible preticted ww1 to the exact date...religon is going to be banned in the great tribulation (then the end will happen) about the 7 global powers or something, and america now are the last superpower before the world ends, (anglo-saxon or something...) .
i just need help about these...are these true?
I'm not into defending anything, just to pointing out you are making things a bit more changing than they really are.
Thanks for pointing that out. I don't need to add where it shouldn't be. Maybe what I remember is not written. But I do remember my mom talking, and my dad saying, if the Russans come down our street, I'll get my guns out and protect our home. (dad was not a witness, but mom told him they were coming) .

I may be showing my age here, but here it goes. It used to be that America/Englad was the 6th, and Russia was the 7th. And Russia was going to overthrow America, and then the end. The Russia became the UN, and the UN was going to take over the USA, and then the end.
Anyone know of any other way it went?
Point I am trying to make is, they keep changing how it is going to end. I was never going to live long enough to graduate from high school. My son is now graduating. They keep saying, it's right around the corner. Now it's nose is peeking around the corner. What ever it takes to scare people from leaving.

the end was too close for that to happen, unless you had a bad accident or sickness.
most of us believed that we wouldn't die, and on top of that we were about to become young again.. since we will all die, do you make it a priority in your life right now to live it fully, and to love fully the ones you care for because every day you skip, its lost and won't come back..
Oh yes. I stop at road side stands now. We drove to Florida from Jersey, and I stopped at all the tourist traps. I saw the natural bridge, and lover's leap. Next summer we are driving out to the Grand Canyon. I'm more spontaneous now.

i wasn't disfellowshipped or anything and (since i moved to another state) it was a relatively clean break.

My Mom and I were arguing this point the other day. She states that only witnesses, ever, since Christ's time, went door to door. That no one else ever has, or ever will do the same thing. She got her 50 hrs in last month, and is there this month. Of course, she counts the time she talks to me.
So yes, they still go door to doo.

For the most part, they really try to do what god has ask of them. They truely believe in god, and try very hard to do as s/he wishes.

example: here at work, i will only use one stall in the bathroom.

I have to finish walking on my left foot. If I stop on my right, I either take a small step, or go back, and walk over again.
When I make cookies, I have to make an odd amount. Can't finish them up with an even amount of cookies.
(doesn't make sense to me. I'm right handed, and every number in my birthdate is even. 12/30/?0.)
i have just heard today that my wifes mother has died suddenly of a heart attack.
she was either in her late 60's or early 70's.
she was a jw though an inactive one.
Funerals are for the living. If going would bring no comfort to you, or your wife, then why go? If you wish to say goodbye, do it after the fact. I found that going to the grave afterwards, you are able to talk to them better. My mother had an elder come to the funeral home for my dad's funeral. I stayed at home with the children. (long story, but briefly, I don't go to funerals, I always go to the site afterwards.)
