Now Even JW Men Are Going To Die At The Big A
by OneFingerSalute inso this weekend there was a part about not following jesus at a distance.
the speaker made a big point of stating that any baptized jw male who was not either appointed ms/elder, or at the very least "reaching out" actively, was in fact following jesus at a distance.
he said that the only way to live through the big a was to follow jesus closely.

I don't know what job is worse Elder or CO. I've seen many elders with stress etched on their face. Some with the 1000 yard stare. Plenty more neglecting their kids and wives. Who wants that? Where is the light load and easy burden of Matt 11:30? The WBT$ is taking a page right out of big business, FUD, fear uncertainty and doubt about your salvation. The only word that comes to mind is cruel, publicly shaming men because they don't want BS drama of appointment in their lives. I think this new Video stuff is in response to the lack of men. When I was invested, I often thought the MS should do most of the meeting parts and Elders focus on shepherding. Now I think it will be a video projector doing most of the parts, and Elders/MS doing other busy work. -

Here is the typical Saturday morning scenario:
JW: Knock Knock ... presentation and mag placement
Householder to mate: What nice people, we could use some spirituality in our lives. Let me Google this...WTF!!!!
Next Sat.
JW: Knock Knock: I'm hear to follow up on our previous conversation.
Householder in a good mood: No thanks, please don't call on this house again!
Householder in a bad mood: Get the F**K of my property, I'm calling the police. (That happened to me)
This is played out over and over every day. With cheap new smart phones, and ever expanding WiFi into 3rd world nations, the Watchtower is in siege mode. Let's face it they have pretty well reached the saturation point, and the growth curve zenith is coming up fast. All the doctrinal changes, and ever more shrill (internet, apostate) cries are evidence of this. They are trying to shed the wacky cult past, and adopt a shiny new e-religion look. When this doesn't work you can expect more extreme change. I have no doubt that Blood, Shunning, and "two witness rule" has or will be on the table. What i would give for recordings of the GB board meetings!

The Religion Of Rejection - And Now That Includes Me
by dubstepped indue to some recent developments i find myself in a new place, and at this point i've lost all of my family and fri....oh that's right, i never really had any friends in the organization anyway.
just people that wanted something from me and a few people that i would invite to do things that occasionally said yes.
the recent rejections of me got me thinking, so let's take a rejection inventory.. i had to reject all of the holidays when my parents started studying.. i had to reject any worldly friends that i already had.. even family became rejected, and the new religion had some place in that.. i was rejected in school and bullied all of the time, not just because we were poor and i made good grades, but for jw reasons too.

I'm mostly a lurker on the site, but your heartfelt post resonated with me. I have also lost all my friends. My brother just called to let me know he is shunning me. His loss! I also have a DF brother that I am reconnecting with. It's hard rebuilding your social life, especially when it's been drilled into your head that all worldly (I hate that word) people are evil and immoral. I still have other (non JW) siblings that now use the term Cult in connection with him. They think he's nuts. I have a child that didn't buy into the crap, I'm so glad. I have beautiful grandchildren that I love dearly. I guess what I'm trying to say is try to focus on the good in your life. You have a loyal and loving wife, support her! If your health is good, celebrate that. You could plan for a child if you don't already have one. You and your wife could take up some charity work if that suites you. I am humbled by the strength and resilience of those on the board that have lost children, parent, siblings, life long friends, grandchildren, etc. I wish this community was real rather than virtual. Lots of smart, compassionate people on this site, that I would be happy to associate with. You are not going to believe this, I just got a knock on the door and an invite to the DC. while writing this post. -

7 questions to make JWs think
by Coded Logic in) why do animals suffer and die?.
) if this is all about god's soverenty, why cause the flood?
how does it prove "man cannot direct their own step" if god immediately turns around and wipes men out for " eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage ?".

Since the governing body make no claim of divine inspiration, why would you make life altering decisions based on the guesses of men?

Just quit quietly - the law is on your side!
by Ajax infreedon of religion guarantees any individual the legal right to abandon any religion at any time for any reason.. if you are a citizen of a country which champions human rights, then your government doesn t care what religion you join, but they will uphold your freedom to join it, without interference, coercion or persecution.
your countries human rights legislation will conversely uphold your rights when it comes time to abandon any religion you so choose.
those (elders) who incite others interfere, coerce or persecute those who have left will be in transgression of the human rights statutes.. a person is only obligated to ecclesiastic law if he exposes himself to it or transgressed it while still a member of a religious community.. when your time comes to abandon the jw-wt cult, do it while still in good standing, be proactive - be decisive -put it in writing!..and do it before the hounders set sights on you.. write a card or letter with as much or as little explanation as you one day might wish to share with pharisees and lawyers.. take this card to a notary public to have your signature witnessed and have the writing overstamped in several places with the date.

I wouldn't waste a nickel suing for this reason. What the watchtower fears the most is the court of public opinion. Hammer them on child abuse, blood, and other issues. The squeaky clean image is paramount.

I hope the mainstream media shines a light in the watchtower dark corners. They danced with glee when it was the RC church.

Wt today and funding special pioneers
by Daisychaindream indoes anyone else feel like it was just a way to beg for donations!!!.
the society gives them a minimal wage to preach 130 hours so we should be the ones sending them money and good and clothes.
it's not like they help the community they go to, i've known missionaries when i was younger who were in deepest darkest soith america in villages with no water, instead of passing in skills and worthwhile tools they just study then go home.

You could also tell them to specify the funds be used for missionaries. They will probably get the cheque back and a scolding telling them to make it out to worldwide work. They don't like directed donations, because they can't add it to the $500,000,000.00 hedge fund. Everything the WTBT$ Incorporated does, is about money. Begging and Hoarding is their game, to the orphans and widows its see ya, keep warm and well fed.
