They live in a shell, shut off from the world, like children. Never really living their life, never really knowing what joy, happiness, love and true friendship is.

Looking back in after we have gotten out and are set free makes us realize what shallow empty lives many of these people lead.A mindless treadmill of meetings,study,assemblies,service etc. etc etc. Always waiting for the END which keeps getting pushed back and back.They are giving their lives,their minds and their souls for an empty dream.

1995 "generation change", what were your early thoughts and what was said ?

i had been long gone by 1995, had i still been in , this would of definitely sent me packing, when the magazines came out in i believe nov 1995, what was your first or early reactions.

what was said from the platform and by the watchtower about this ?.

The Preaching Work Is The Biggest Scam Happening On Jehovah's Witnesses!

the most useless work a jw can do is preach!

the watchtower society said that every baptized person, whether they be male or female, child or adult, is a minister!

and the society says every minister must do a "life-saving work" and "preach the good news of the kingdom".

I may be wrong but it seems to me in Rutherford's time they had a period of time where they would paint bible texts and comments (religion is a snare and a racket etc) on large rocks by the roadside.They then used this scripture to claim fufillment of bible prophecy.Was this just something I renember locally or was it part of the preaching work at that time????

UK to introduce identity cards

call me sceptical but this is just a scame to get money (id & passport = 77) and will be abused by the powers that be.

it will not help fight crime, terrorism or anything else.. why have fingerprint info on my card?

aren't the ones on the end of my fingers good enough?!

The only positive form of identity control will come when all children have a barcode tattoed on their butts at birth.

This will give a whole new meaning to the phrase "SHOW ME SOME ID"

Live and let live.This should be easy enough to do.I am sure however that the baggage many of us carry over from our Dub years at times gets in the way of puting this into practice.All of us can try to work harder at this as in the end it will make this board a better place to be.

Taking stock of my blessings....

i've been df'd for a number of years, and up until recently have been able to maintain a fairly close relationship with my parents.

dad passed away a few years back and since then i have tried to keep my mom busy so she wouldn't be alone - phone calls, shopping, dinner, etc - and i took care of things around her house for her.

well now mom has decided that she needs to follow the wt rules and cut the "socializing" with me - of course, it's "acceptable" for me to still go take care of her when she needs it .

A good dub is always trained to believe that the brothers and sisters in the congregation are your true friends and "relatives"

I am sure your mother will soon find these friends are very shallow and non-supportive in most areas of her life.If she can ever come to realize that you were the only true,real family she had it might cause a change in her feelings for you.

I know from personal experience, as do many here the pain and suffering that this ungodly rule puts into peoples lives.Good luck in the future and your personal situation.
