  What Is Wrong With the Religion "Wicca"?

  i am currently an agnostic, i am suffering from depression because i cant seem to know or realize if this "jehovah's witness religion" is really true..i mean what is so true about it.

  im only 17 years old and i feel that i need to find my religion.

  right now im currently dating a wiccan.

  Hello and Merry Meet from another Wiccan,
  Wicca is unlike most other religions in that there is not a central body of official Wiccans, nor is there any one leader. A lot of us are solitary practitioners, and our spirituality is a very personal sacred thing to us. Wicca allows me, personally, to balance and center myself as none other. I find the rituals are like a very interactive form of prayer or supplication.

  I have studied Wicca, and much of the earth-based or pagan paths, and take from it what resonates with me. I believe we each find our very own path to the divine (or we don't, and thats personal too). Good luck and blessings with your path.

  Mom Died -- and I found out from an old friend!

  ok, i'm writing this thru tears as i just found out in the last 5 minutes.

  my dad died in august, and they had been together just 1 or 2 weeks over 70 years married!

  i didn't expect her to last without him, and visa versa.. i just tried to call my sister, and no answer there.

  ((((Brenda))))) I can't believe I didn't see this until now, I am so sorry to read about your loss and the reprehensible actions of your so-called family. I know how hard your own health has been to deal with and this added stress cannot be good for that either. Please know that my love and best wishes are with you and your family right now.

  I too think about the results when our family members who stay staunchly to the JW party line, cross over to the other side and find it not at all to their expectations.

  My advice on the letter to family members, it feeds their persecution complexes and makes them feel even more superior. I know its good therapy, write every one of them down exactly as you would speak it to them if you were sending them. And then burn them and as you watch them go up in smoke, ask your higher power to take your anger away with the smoke. The anger you keep in your heart means they still have that much control over you.

  she's very much in love with me as well but her guilt as a result of her religion is emotionally devistating her.

  I absolutely love the books and its funny this thread should come up right now when I have decided to re-read all of them. I'm just starting on Book 4 (fast reader) and can't wait for her next book to come out.

  I have wondered too about all the hype about killing Harry off, but there will only be one way to find out....

  neither is this a poxy swan-song, i'm just opening up my heart a little.. today i had cause to reflect on a conversation i had with my [now ex-]wife shortly after my epithany.

  If there truly is one God underlying this universe, and he loves the whole world, why would he limit his presence to just a quarter of the world that enjoyed the Christian framework of reference? Is he really so small as to limit himself to a small parcel of land in Palestine, and a small window of opportunity? If "God is love", then is the deep abiding love experienced by a pagan, hundu, shaman, etc., of a lower grade quality when they earnestly seek to connect to the Divine?

  This quote of a quote is exactly what I think as well. I wish more people could see this similarity. I honor you your faith and I'm absolutely convinced that you honor me in mine. Seems the ones that do not respect others their spiritual paths are those too dogmatic in their belief system to allow others their own truths. (Be it a particular faith or be it atheism).

  The reason you have the respect of so many here is that you do respect others. I believe you to be a well balanced person, Ross. Happy to read about this deeply personal part of yourself that you have decided to share with us. Sorry for those that have to pick at it. I've wondered aloud before why people choose to take a happy person who expresses a pleasant experience, and try to turn it into an indictment. **shrugs***

  What would be something you'd like from secret santa?

  i am already thinking of ideas.

  my sister had an online relationship with a man from holland (they are now married in the us) anyhow, they would send eachother packages and the coolest things he would send was different foods from there... cookies the us doesn't have, chocolate spread for toast.... this is my first gift exchange since i was a kid, so anyone have some ideas?

  ( is this kosher to ask?

  Isn't this fun??? If I get someone from a far off corner of the globe I would most definately like something unique to that area, a cool rock or crystal is always good for me since I'm a rock-hound. A nice-sized coffee mug is good, don't like those itsy bitsy flowery types though. Chocolates are always good, especially good dark chocolate. Of course if you're rich you can always send me some REALLY good scotch. I'll be a happy camper then!

  i was thinking this morning about an incident that happened yesterday and came to a very welcome realization..like rett butler, i simply dont give a damn..what others preconceived notions or expectations of me are anymore.i am happy, and content with who and where i am in my life.its a good place to be emotionally and mentally, after being soooo tormented for so many years.with all the negative people pleasing baggage i carried around.its like erica jong said:at fifty, the madwoman in the attic breaks loose, stomps down the stairs, and sets fire to the house.

  she won't be imprisoned anymore.its a great place to be, as a woman.anyone else care to share?.

  Sunny,
  I just had my 50th birthday party too and it set me free! I figure now I can be as eccentric as I like and people will excuse it as old age and senility! I absolutely refuse to roll over for anyone anymore, and that has been my life's work. I'm sure it will make life interesting, but life is an adventure anyway so might as well enjoy it along the way!

  As for independent, that a whole notha story sista!
