awesome movie...i am not that much of a johnny depp fan but he was absolutely brilliant in this...but his wonderful acting is not required to carry the whole movie.

it is extremely entertaining, and the special effects are excellent.. i was just wondering if anyone else had a chance to see it?

when the internet was a novelty, sites like h2o sprung up featuring lengthy, detailed discussions about watchtower doctrine.. every aspect of witness belief was debated - and throughly refuted.

the gentile times, blood, parousia and the name 'jehovah'.

were examined and the watchtower ideology was cut to pieces.. .

I liked it too. Did you notice the play on words with his prayer computer? Yahwee instead of yahoo? Could that also be a play on Yahweh? THAT made me laugh.

I also liked Morgan Freeman as god, he was such a humble god.

http://www.witnessinc.com.. if you go to this site above......you will see this is a site maintained by former jw duane magnani.. on his page of what the "true gospel" is.......and what a"true christian" is.......he plainly states that if you do not believe jesus is god himself.........you have nothing.

he even proves all his points by cherry picking known modern scholars who will back him up!

i have to ask, how many here have become non believers in god and christ since leaving the jehovahs witnesses and why?

I do not think of myself as an atheist or agnostic, but christian aquaintances do.

I like how Doc said it, as to the definition of god being untestable. For me, the biblical and modern christian concept of god is unaceptable. It is severely limiting. It is an unuseable, inadiquite theory-of-god.

I think that god is the ~~universe~~ multiverse, that we are parts of him, and that he experiences his creation/self in part through us.

Enishi, I don't exactly hate "God", just the CONCEPT that we have been taught is god. I do hate how people stick to it so doggedly and fight over their opinions of God, and judge others for not having the same view of God. I am all for agreeing to disagree, but if I told you "You're going to die because YOU do not believe in God" that would be unaceptable. One of the subtle implications of that statement is "You don't believe in MY god" therefore "MY god is going to destroy you"

I think of the taught concept of god as being along the same line of "there is no spoon"

I am not attacking a person's right to free will, even the right to hold beliefs. What does concern me and irritate me is when people hold beliefs and do not see even the possibility of a broader view. IMHO, to hold onto a view as "Precious" sets the stage for emotional/mental inbalance. Yes, Gollum inspired my use of the word "precious" there.
