here in the northern hemisphere we are experiencing spring.. there are some smells i just love especially in the spring.
fresh cut grass just makes me feel good.
a fresh spring rain is very comforting.
I love the smell of the bathroom right after someone has showered and shaved. It always makes me feel so safe. It reminds me of when I was little.
I also love the smell of English Ivy potporri. I have found one shop here in Arkansas that carries it. It is very clean, very crisp.

well as you would have guessed from my name, i am a proud witness and i feel obliged to preach to you about the promises that our wonderful creator, jehovah god, has promised each and every one of us, of any race or background.
i know that you already know what he has told us through his word, but i am curious to wonder why you have chosen to jump off the narrow road which leads to everlasting life.
is it because you have had a bad experience in god's organization?
I know that as Witnesses you know that we get warnings to stay away from you kind of people, but I want to help. If anybody has anything to say about 'how bad the Organization is' yadda yadda yadda then let them say it here, we will have it out.
You know, I wish the internet had been around when I was an active JW. This is a great way to get your time in. Heck, with the internet, I could have even aux. pioneered on a regular basis!
You asked, so I'm sure you really want to know. (I'm guessing this will give you enough material for at least another half-hour's worth of field service.) Why did I leave God's organization? I was tired of being told that no matter how much I did, it was never enough. I was tired of being brow-beaten over piddly things (hair too long, shoes too shabby for service, a TWO door car, what were you thinking?) by self-righteous elders who committed worse acts themselves (smoking, child abuse, getting drunk on a regular basis). But most of all, I left because I was tired of hearing what an evil wicked person I was from the organization.
They kept telling me that if you pray to Jehovah, He will hear your prayers... He will help you overcome your obstacles. He will help you change. He never did. You can only feel like a failure for so long until something snaps. I decided that it would be better for my parents to have a dead son, than a gay son. My mother came home early from work to discover me with one wrist slit open (I was about to do the other one) and rushed me to the hospital. To those on the board who've heard it before, I apologize for going into this in detail, again. I bring it up again, PW, because I didn't want you to think that I didn't try hard enough to be a good little straight-boy JW. I did everything I could to change the way that I felt: I prayed in ernest every day and night, I studied everything I could on the subject from the org., I did what they said would work, I even got engaged to a sister. But, no matter what I did, the feeling was still there. I finally realized that if Jehovah wouldn't take it away, then it must be natural. It must be something that he doesn't want to help me change.
So there, PW. That's why I left the organization. I left because the organization wouldn't allow me to be the person that Jehovah created me to be. Don't bother responding or quoting scriptures, people that I actually know and respect have already done that. (But then again, I guess that wouldn't allow you to count your time, would it?)

This is the first Mother's Day that I'll have ever celebrated with my mom! I've sent her Mother's Day gifts before, but I was always in Texas on that day.
I got her a kit from Hobby Lobby to make her own stepping stone for her garden. It comes complete with letters and little things to put pictures in and everything. It's very cheesy, but I think she'll like it.
Country Guy: Momma's boy and PROUD of it!!!
is it just me or does it seem like there arent any really great sitcoms on t.v?.
"friends" hasnt been funny in at least two years.. "frasier" was only funny the first couple of seasons.
"malcom in the middle" and "the bernie mac show" i can tolerate and actually find pretty funny now and again.
I think both "Friends" and "Will & Grace" have been much funnier this year. Although you could take Will and Grace out and just have "Jack & Karen" and I would love it. Two other sitcoms we never miss are on the WB's Friday night lineup. "Reba" and "Grounded For Life" are very funny. My sweetie hates Reba's music, but loves the show.
Are animated shows sitcoms? If so, then the "Simpsons" and "King of the Hill" are both great examples of funny sitcoms. And, King of the Hill becomes a totally different show when you can understand what Boomhauer is saying.

anyone have any thoughts on american idol lately.. i was really dismayed when they voted jennifer off two weeks ago.
it looks like she will still have a career though.. john stevens is just so nice but he needs voice lessons, as paula suggested for him.. who do you think will win?.
at this point, i think it's between diana and latoya.
Was "It's Raining Men" on it? She was so great doing that song. I want to buy it............just haven't been to a music store lately. I also want to get Clay Aiken's new single, Solitaire.
No, but that would have been cool, too!
As for "Solitare" you better get it soon. A buddy of mine works for BMG (the distributor) and he tells me they only made a set number of them and they aren't going to make any more. If the local music stores are out, try a Walgreens or Eckerd. I've found stuff there when Hastings and Wal-Mart were sold out.

IMHO, last night's rankings (from best to worst) were:
1. LaToya
2. Fantasia
3. Diana
4. George
5. Jasmine
Jas will probably be the one to go tonight. But, George wasn't much better this week. I wouldn't be surprised if he went instead. America doesn't always make sense with their voting. Two weeks ago is a prime example. I think everyone thought "Oh Jennifer (or LaToya or Fantasia) will be safe, I'm going to vote for George instead...." And everyone else did the same thing. Personally, I think LaToya is awesome. It's going to come down to her and Fantasia.
has anyone heard Kimberley Locke's new CD - the best of all Idol alums! IMO
I bought it yesterday. I love it! My only disappointment was that "Band of Gold" wasn't on it. That's the song that she and Frenchie sang in at the auditions at the beginning of Season Two.

whats your favourite song?
though its breaking every rule i've ever made.
my racing heart is just the same.
I love the new single from Kimberly Locke. She finished in third place in last year's American Idol. Her album comes out this Tuesday.
8TH WORLD WONDER
Woke up early this morning, made my coffee like I always do. Then it hit me from nowhere, everything I feel about me and you. The way you kiss me crazy, baby you're so amazing. Seven days and seven nights of thunder, The waters rising and I'm slipping under. I think I fell in love with the 8th world wonder. I guess that I'm just falling deeper into something I've never known. But the way that I'm feeling, makes me realize that it can't be wrong. You're love's like a summer rain, washing my doubts away. Seven days and seven nights of thunder, The waters rising and I'm slipping under. I think I fell in love with the 8th world wonder. It's only been a week, but it's coming over me. It's making me believe that you're the one for me. Seven days and seven nights of thunder, The waters rising and I'm slipping under. I think I fell in love with the 8th world wonder. |
with the help of my father and our right-wing friends in the oil.
i am the first president in u.s. history to have the united nations.
bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public.
President George W. Bush has had the LOWEST misery index in 20 years: this index measures inflation and unemployment. The misleading SLANT that people try to put via this "resume" is nothing but political propaganda.
Blacksheep,
Can you point me to a website or source of information with this on it. I've actually never heard of the misery index and would like to learn more about it.
Thank you,
CountryGuy
