Somewhat. I started awakening before my baptism....as a child I HATED THE STANCE ON EDUCATION. I love school and the no higher-education stance was total bologna. Needless to say I went to college anyways! Fast forward a few yrs and I see the politics of appointment, the depression of family members, the unchristian characteristics of those in authority.....and I have serious doubts. SO yes....I had doubts on my own....when I came here as a lurker I awakened. Then I read CofC, Combating Cult Mind Control, done further research, got counciling, and now Im planning a fade after college.

Did you AWAKEN from the JWs by yourself?
by cultBgone ini was thinking about how so many posters here on jwn are frustrated and frantic to help their loved ones get away from the brainwashing of jws, and how much advice is given about how to help family members and loved ones.
i considered my own leaving and that it was internal turmoil based on the teachings getting weirder and child abuse issues, to name just a few, and it made me wonder:.
did you self-awaken or were you assisted by the gentle proddings of a friend or family member?

Top 10 Signs that Jehovah's Witnesses Want to Disfellowship You:
by OnTheWayOut ini've posted these years ago and was reminiscing, so i thought i would share the laugh with you again.. top 10 signs that jehovah's witnesses want to disfellowship you:.
10. there's two guys in suits staying all night outside your home in a four-door sedan.. 9. an elder you spoke to on the phone calls and asks you to repeat what you said the other day, but asks you to speak slowly and clearly.. 8. suddenly, jw friends stop by and ask an awful lot of the same questions.. 7. your laptop computer was moved, left on, or is missing.. 6. you left your car unlocked, it was thoroughly searched by someone but absolutely nothing is missing including your gps which was searched too.. 5. your boss asks if you are in trouble with the law or someone, stating some really polite men were asking about you and left some "tracts.".
4. someone picked up the cigarette butts around your back porch.. 3. the bartender at your favorite nightspot asks if you have ever before seen the guys in the corner booth that have been ordering "cokes" all evening and pulling out a camera everytime you order a beer.. 2. you receive registered mail and you already served on a jury this year.. 1. your jw mother who finally had accepted that you will never go back starts begging you to either go back to the kingdom hall or move with no forwarding address.. .

This religion is about to be toast.
by kneehighmiah inthe governing body is preparing to take a major hit.
this recent watchtower shows it.
not the new understandings, but the article on marriage.

Stop BREATHING you SINNER!
by stuckinarut2 in(this may offend some sincere 'christians'.
can you, as a human, stop yourself from breathing?.
i have always thought that one of the basic teachings of 'christianity' is the concept that we are "mere sinners"...riddled with guilt and not worthy of god or life...undeserved kindness has been shown to us etc.... but, we have no control over that, just as we have no control over breathing air!.

If there are no kids involved, I would:
- Resign, submit letter of DA to any friends inside, the elders, and her family.
- Ask for my wife to come home, or else Divorce her for disloyalty (perhaps a bit harsh....I know)
- Move on, and start living the real life, Get involved with new things and eventually find a wife I can be happy with.
But thats just me. Or you could give her time to sort through her emotions, etc.
My prayers and well wishes,

Glaring discrepency in Blood Doctrine
by kjg132 ini found an article on the dr. sears website about the benefits of breasfeeding.
according to the article it says: "a drop of breastmilk contains about one million white blood cells.
" it also says "colostrum also contains higher amounts of white blood cells..........than mature milk.

The only recourse I can see from the borg., if this argument was made......which it is most likely not too (dubs on read WT's remember), is that the entire process of human life from a mother to unborn child involves the sharing of blood. Therefore, nursing wouldn't be considered an issue. Or some bologna like that.

My explanation would be, God sent his son in a manner to look over our sins. All we have to do is imitate the Isrealites in Moses' day who were instructed to look at the copper serpent.....and put faith in the ransom of the son so that God could forgive us our sins.....of which we have no control over.
Not sure if that answered....but thats where I am now.
