My Parents have gone FULL CULT MODE! Having a job is SATANIC!

to give a little background, my parents are in their late 50s.

around a year ago, my elder dad got laid off from his job.

he worked as a auto mechanic making ok money.

I tell you, mind control is something else! I feel very bad for your parents. If you do not work, how are you expected to attain basic survival? Wasn't Jesus a carpenter? Come on.

The self-righteousness is out of the ballpark with a lot of witnesses! I grew up in a congregation with about 65% pioneers -- guess why? They were well off individuals in South Orange county who could AFFORD to do it! Most witnesses have the totally wrong view about pioneering and put themselves in bad situations.

many of the recent changes in the jehovah's witness organization are a clear sign of a cult that is struggling for survival.

the internet has change the scenario in a very dramatic way.

many of us who for years struggled alone with doubts and cognitive dissonance thinking that we were the only ones, that we, as individuals were the issue, now know that there is a large community of individuals who see the organization as what it is, a mind controlling cult that is not only false, but also dangerous.. the governing body clearly understands the consequences of this awakening.

Great post!

It will only get worse as time goes by. Right now, everything is falling like a house of cards. The hardcore members are trying not to imagine that this is an epic fail. Some would have a mental breakdown and cannot face the fact that they've squandered their lives and other people's lives away for NOTHING!

deep down inside, i have always been agnostic.

the first few chapters in genesis are contradictory and differing.. no one has ever been able to answer my question: "why was satan ever created?".

You know why there is no mention of the generation and 1914 fiasco at the big branch meetings etc? They know this is a big issue that can't be challenged. They're in too deep!

US Zone visit: disappointing, depressing, discouraging

i will have plenty of "snark" to post later on, but please indulge me while i get this out of my system..... suppose you are the leaders...yes, the leaders...there are only 7 of you...for the one true religion in all the universe.. jehovah the god of the whole universe speaks to you, you alone, out of 7 billion+ people on teh planet.. you have an opportunity, thanks to the advancements in technology, to speak to 750,000 of your followers "live", and another 750,000 or so within 24 hours.. 1.5 million people!

hanging on your every word!.

this is the first time in history you can simultaneously, or nearly simultaneously, address so many of your adherents.. what message are you going to present for this special occasion?.

Here is a depressing story for you relating to this zone visit:

I was just informed that one of my congregation members got really sick after Sunday's branch visit. Our assigned time was 3:00 p.m. The verdict was that she was assigned to clean our hall earlier that morning. To make matters worse she had NO breakfast! Low and behold, the poor woman drove WAY OUT to the assembly hall without consuming any food or water at all!!! You would think that our society would show hospitality and warm "Christian" love by providing water, juices and miniature snacks for the friends to eat. Think about the poor friends with diabetes. This makes since due to the fact that the meeting runs 3-4 hours long.

I guess some people are full of so much zeal, they began to neglect their basic needs catering to the organization. What makes it so sad is that she is uninsured and currently awaits a room at an overcrowded county hospital!

@leaving_quietly: Would you believe that this was the look of a majority of friends (older ones) at the Branch Meeting last night? Immediately after they said "Amen", it was like loose livestock running away -- the friends were almost knocking each other down trying to get to their cars. I'm very observant. Looking at their faces shows that they feel the same way that I do, they are just afraid to "believe" it. Appearances are EVERYTHING!
