anything that detracts the brainwashed "little flock" away from studying their watchtower magazines is considered to be of pagan origin.
they even have something on the official watchtower website about cross country skiing and its pagan origins.
The JWs are famous for despising any and every thing that is "other" than themselves. They despise the Jews, the Catholics, and on and on. And they have become just like those things, those other religions, they despise...and that includes Pagans.Without a doubt the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses is among the most dysfunctional, maladapted groups on this planet.

If you have any other major holiday (like Thanksgiving in the U.S.) between now and Christmas Day, then do it after that particular holiday. Otherwise, you can put decorations just about now as Christmas is getting closer.

They are brainwashed into believing that anything non-JW or against the JWs is demonized.
Trying to prove them that the Watchtower is wrong is a big task as they truly believe in "You cannot prove a negative" such as for example, if they believe "blood transfussion will not save lives", they'll believe it.

I gotta give you a lot of kudos for being able to withstand a lot of BS, mainly since they always do a JW/WTS promo during a wedding or a funeral service. Look past that and think mainly on the true funeral service that you'll go to.

i recently purchased "combatting cult mind control" the book by steve hassen and found it very enlightening.
upon the conclusion of that book i did realise once and for all that i was indeed a victim of mind control and that the organisation of jehovahs witnesses certainly qualifies as a "destructive cult" the book was of special interest to me, beacuse it was not written by an ex jw , but by an ex moonie, thus the information is not biased, being particularly written for ex jws.
the similarities of the dubs and the moonies are quite eerie, although there are some differences.
In_between,
I think the attitude of them will be either:
- they'd start comdemning all the cults, that how wrong these cults are and that they are glad that they are in Jehovah's real organization.
- they deny that they are in a mind-controlling cult.
You see it is going back to a lot of tunnel-vision and denial there. Only someone who escape or leave a cult will be able to relate and understand what Steve Hassan wrote in his book.
