My realizing the organization was false was inevitable, I had detested the intolerant attitude of the WTS for a long time and even disagreed with a couple of their views. However, had I not learned about the child abuse and the UN scandal, I'm sure I would have remained a loyal dub for several more years, as I would have still thought that it was God's organization.

What Might've Kept You Still In The Organization?
by minimus insome people left the organization because of the united nations scam, 1975, the "generation" change, child abuse issues, not feeling the "love" of the brotherhood, etc.
in all honesty, is there something----that if it hadn't happened----would have kept you still in?
for example, if the child abuse issues were resolved properly, perhaps, some of those that left because of the mishandling, might still be at the meetings.

RATED R MOVIES
by sandy inthis past weekend a relative came over with these ultimate fighting dvds that he bought but he wouldn't sit down and watch city by the sea because it is rated r.
they can be so dense and hypocritical!
when i pointed out to him that his ultimate fighting dvds are un-rated but in my opinion it is far worse to watch people fighting for pure entertainment purposes than it is to see a rated r movie that teaches a great life lesson.

I actually tried pointing out to other witnesses several times that if certain aspects of the Old Testament were made into a movie and portrayed accurately, they would get an R-rating or worse. Whenever I said that, they would shrug awkwardly and say "well, the context is different". Some parents I knew would have a heart attack if their children saw Shindlers List, but wouldn't think twice about them reading that part in Judges where a prostitute is rapped and cut into little pieces.
Growing up as a dub, I can say that I was far more disturbed by things in the Bible and WTS's intolerant doctrines than any R-rated movie.

One time a sister in my hall went on and on ranting about how she rented a R-rated movie without realizing it, and when she found out she was so angry that she pulled it out of the VCR and threw it on the ground.

Your Ideas On The Bible?
by shamus inso, what do you think about the bible?
is it really ispired of god?.
i am strongly believing that the bible is nothing more than folk-tales, half-truths, and suggestions by man.

The Bible is not inspired of God. Scary though it may seem to one wrestling with a spiritual crises, almost all the evidence is staked against the Bible. However, many of the scriptures contain the outer forms of deep spiritual/occult teachings. I think that some of the writers probably based it on meditative visions or out of body experiences in which they studied the Akashic records, such as Revelation for instance.

Are these PETA people nuts?
by Thunder Rider inthe link below is to the peta sight and a page aimed at kids.
i heard about it on the radio yesterday, but didn't believe it to be true.
i'm all for treating animals humanely but if this is what happens to your judgement when you cut all meat out of your diet, then i'mgoing out for a burger.

Although I would like to become a full vegetarian one day, the simply fact of the matter is that I like my meat to much. I agree with most of the arguements presented in favor of becoming a vegan, and I think animals raised for food are treated in an utterly atrocious manner, but my urge to give up meat just isnt that strong.
However, I have tried to curb my meat intact a good deal. I eat red-meat less, and avoid the more fat-laden meals such as steak. Lately I tend to eat sushi more than any other type of meat. My brother has suggested to me that I should avoid dairy products as well.

Cat bathing as a Martial Art
by Gadget insome people say cats never have to be bathed.
they say cats lick themselves clean.
they say cats have a special enzyme of some sort in their saliva that works like new, improved wisk dislodging the dirt where it hides and whisking it away.

Ha ha, great post Gadget.
My family took in a stray several years ago, and one day we decided to wash it. The cat completely freaked out, you could have heard the feline screaming from a block away! After that we vowed never to wash any cats again, no matter how dirty they became...

It is true that JW's always have a answer about an issue. No matter how much you try to entrap one in a argument they will quote a scripture supporting thier viewpoint. After I was baptized I thought that I had all the answers, and could back it all up from scripture.
After I was baptized, I thought that i had all the answers, all of which I could back up with scripture. The interesting thing is, though, is that although my sense of reassurance is now gone, I actually feel more content knowing that there are no perfect answers.
