Will the GB now accept Higher Learning???
by 7Starz inreported in many news outlets today including the wall street journal: president obama is pushing for the first two years of a community college to be included in the normal education of the country's children.
the education law currently has a free education from k-12 and obama now wants to include a 2 year community college degree for free (well the tax payers will pick up the tab).
so basically k-12 and a 2 year college associates degree.. if this becomes law, will the gb change their view on higher education and say:.

I can see none of you watch tony tightpants speech on gb tv. He actually adressed this by saying "the cost of the education isnt the primary concern or concoderation. It is being emersed in the enviornment". He also specifically noted that in america the first 12 years are required, beyond that it was optional and that was where parents had to make decisions. -

Good Netflix shows to watch
by Simon inin the long winter nights you need some good tv shows to watch while you wait for the eternity between seasons of game of thrones.. we've watched marco polo (pretty good) and have just started watching orange is the new black which is not at all what i imagined (didn't know it was funny!).
house of cards is on the list too as we've heard good things about that.. anyone have any others that are worth seeing?.

2015 has an extra second is anyone afraid?
by truthseeker100 inthe year 2015 will have an extra second which could wreak havoc on the infrastructure powering the internet.. at 11:59 p.m. on june 30, clocks will count up all the way to 60 seconds.
that will allow the earth's spin to catch up with atomic time.. the earth's spin is gradually slowing down, by about two thousandths of a second per day, but atomic clocks are constant.
that means that occasionally years have to be lengthened slightly, to allow the slowing earth to catch up with the constant clock.. but last time it happened, in 2012, it took down much of the internet.

"You insulted our Prophet" similarities with WTS / Paris attacks
by AFRIKANMAN in"this is from the nov. 15th 1952 question from readers.
this is directly from the cd btw:
questions from readers in the case of where a father or mother or son or daughter is disfellowshipped ,how should such person be treated by members of the family in their family relationship?p.c.,ontario, canada.

@afrikanman, im sorry if you felt attacked. I very carefully phrased my statments to be neutral and referance my opinion, not an incontrivertable fact. I also laid out why i felt as i do in a conversational format. I will refrain from comenting further if it upsets you but i stand by my view. -

I dont excuse or justify the language, in fact it's contemptible to speak of a brother like that, but its not the same. And it was 62 years ago. Dubbies cant even find that on the cdrom to be shocked by it.
Just my humble opinion, that quote is damning enough on its own. Trying to sensationalize it by tying it the attack in france dosent make it more damning or noteworthy.

Yep, good one. We have done this before, sharing song lyrics that sum up our views on the dubbie experiance.
as a born in who felt over worked and unappreciated by a greedy whorish organization, this song sums up my exit in a meaningful way:
don't think she understands the sacrifices that I made
Maybe if this b** had acted right, I would've stayed
But I've already wasted over half of my life
I would've laid down and died for you, I no longer cry for youNo more pain, b**, you took me for granted
Took my heart and ran it straight into the planet
Into the dirt, I can no longer stand it
Now my respect I demand it
I'ma take control of this relationship, command it
And I'ma be the boss of you now, goddammitAnd what I mean is that I will no longer let you control me
So you better hear me out, this much you owe me
I gave up my life for you, totally devoted to you, while I stayed
Faithful all the way, this is how I get repaid?Look at how I dress, baggy sweats, go to work a mess
Always in a rush to get back to you, I ain't heard you yet
Not even once say you appreciate me, I deserve respect
I've done my best to give you nothing less than perfectnessAnd I know that if I end this I'll no longer have nothing left
But you keep treating me like a staircase, it's time to step
And I won't be coming back so don't hold your breath
You know what you've done, no need to go in depth
I told you, you'd be sorry if I left, I'd left while you weptHow's it feel now? Yeah, funny ain't it, you neglected me
Did me a favor although my spirit free you've said
But a special place for you in my heart I have kept
It's unfortunate but it's too lateI feel like when I bend over backwards for you, all you do is laugh
'Cause that ain't good enough, you expect me to fold myself in half
'Til I snap, don't think I'm loyal, all I do is rap
I cannot moonlight on the side, I have no life outside of thatDon't I give you enough of my time, you don't think so, do you?
Jealous when I spend time with the girls
Why I'm married to you still, man, I don't know
But tonight I'm serving you with papers, I'm divorcing you
Go marry someone else and make 'em famousAnd take away their freedom like you did to me
Treat 'em like you don't need 'em and they ain't worthy of you
Feed 'em the same stuff you made me eatI'm moving on forget you, oh, now I'm special
I aint feel special when I was with youAll I ever felt was this, helplessness
Imprisoned by a selfish b***, chew me up and spit me out
I fell for this so many times, it's ridiculous
And still I stick with this, I'm sick of this
But in my sickness and addiction, you're addictive as they getEvil as they come, vindictive as they make 'em
My friends keep asking me why I can't just walk away from
I'm addicted to the pain, the stress, the drama
I'm drawn in, so I guess, I'ma mess, cursed and blessed
But this time I'ma ain't changing my mind, I'm climbing out this abyssYou screaming as I walk out that I'll be missed
But when you spoke of people who meant the most to you
You left me off your list
forget you hip hop, I'm leaving you
My life sentence is served, b*** -

When elders approach you.....how do you/did you respond?
by Blackfalcon98 inso, back when you were still in, or even now (for those still in), how do you respond when the elders ask to speak with you in the back room?

When i stepped down and they wanted to have a follow up call to 'see how i was doing' i litterally laughed at the cobe and said "come on man, do you really think i need that or that im going for it...?" We stared at each other for a second and he walked away. Its all voluntary. It isnt a court of law. They have zero authority.
Just. Say. No.

@eye, i dont think theres any doubt that they use these events as trial ballons of sorts, although typicaly the big 3 day sales conventions arnt trials as some of the talks are printed verbatim to be used as wt studies. The one day events seem to have that 'trial balloon' element (in my opinion) for sure. Something else to factor in though, as in the case of losche, is that they all have their own personal views of things and, as you noted, they feel free to run with them because they are on the GB. The locals tend to run with them because they are GB and it somehow gets codified without actually being written, again as you noted. What i have noticed though is that these sorts of unwritten rules are usually adhered to for a short time frame by the majority, if at all. We also had losche rant to us about football. I was a staunch believer at the time and missed not a game over it. In fact he was laughed at by every male in my congregation, with some suggesting he should be invited over for beer and wings (a local custom during football).
i say all that to agree with you but im not sure how far that type of thing goes in the long run with most dubbies. Even tony tight pants remarks about "spanks" (spandex) faded. Local sisters tightned up for about one workout, seemed to realize the foolishness of it, and reverted to what worked (out) for them. Their insistance on dubbies adhering to whats in actual print has a two edge sword effect in these situations. If they dont read it they tend to see it as having wiggle room (at least locally). This GB may simply not be as powerful as some in the past, at least in as far as having the power to imply and get obedience.
I also have noted that having the locals see them more isnt helping them any either. Instead of the gb being a rare treat and having a 'man behind the curtain' mystic, the locals are seeing them often (on gb tv especially) and its losing its luster.
