we have spent the last few weeks in training at the montgomery facility (near walkill) there are 6 couples that were trained to go on the road as ldc field representatives of the branch.

Wow thank you for sharing! If possible to share what is your friends role....? Ldc head or assistant type? He is going to be over my area (DC). Last i heard they are going to be based in PA

Just returned from South America

i just came back from visiting family in south america (will keep the name of the country out for now) and i was shocked by the amount of jws i saw on the street.

keep in mind that most countries in sa have been under military rule until the early 80s, with the general fear and mindset sticking around until the late 90s, even when the military was gone and democracy re established.

jw were not around when i lived there.

There may aso be an 'optical illusion' of sorts... Even in my area, which has lomg been packed with dubbies, i "see" them more now than ever, but its largely due to the public cart witnessing push, not an actual increase in dubbies. They scout out busy areas to post up in and therefore catch your attention... Just a possible explanitation

How would they explain this one?

while there is plenty of pressure for young jws to refrain from every act of premarital sex, self pleasuring or by engaging with others, there isn't a whole lot of advice on the bible regarding this aspect.

i have just recently began to wonder about it so the only thing i can recall regarding this on the scriptures, is the famous words recorded in 1 cor 7:39 or any other paragraph that speaks against sexual immorality.

however, i came across deut 21:10. check it out.

Seems clear to me:

“If you go to war against your enemies and Jehovah your God defeats them for you and you take them captive, 11 and you see among the captives a beautiful woman and you are attracted to her and you want to take her as your wife, 12 you may bring her into your house. She should then shave her head, attend to her nails, 13 and remove the clothing of her captivity, and dwell in your house. She will weep for her father and her mother a whole month, and afterward you may have relations with her; you will become her husband and she will become your wife. 14 But if you are not pleased with her, you should then let her go wherever she wishes. But you may not sell her for money or treat her harshly, since you have humiliated her.

another set of versus that show who their god is and how he treats people. Remember: he does not change!
