Who or What is the Holy Spirit?
by FusionTheism intradition within christianity has long been that any time the phrases holy spirit, holy ghost, or spirit of godare used in the bible (especially in the new testament), it always refers to the mysterious third divine person of the trinity, who is fully god, co-equal to the father and son, yet somehow distinct.. i want to present a simplified alternative view: let the context determine the meaning!.
(one thing to keep in mind is that the meaning of the bible words used for spirit basically is unseen force or invisible presence.).

What really shows how stupid that whole theory proves to be is that once appoimted elders are told that their appointment is not in fact by HS. The wt says that an appointment can only be said to be by HS to the extent that the brother meets and lives upto the qualifications in the scriptures. Sigh.... Viv, Thor is a God. Spiderman is just a kid who got bitten by a radioactive spider that gave him the the proportional strength of said arachnid. Nobody ever argues that spiderman is remotely on Thors level in strength/power.
Also nobody worships spiderman.
Also Thor is real, spiderman is just a fictional comic character.
A more appropriate comparison would be goku verses superman, which is also silly because superman wins everytime but at least they are both fictional.

fat pervert mark sewell later got 14 years and i hope he is enjoying every minute of it.. the courageous ladies who spoke on the programme were articulate, reasonable and made a tremendous impression.. the quote in the thread title made an impression on me, and i hope, on all listeners.. forget religious, theological, 'biblical' issues and cut to the basics.
a rape victim was asked to demonstrate - to demonstrate, ffs - to three unqualified (middle-aged at least, presumably) men just how far her legs were apart when she was raped.. i have rarely heard anything so outrageous, and i used to investigate rape and abuse in my profession.
