There were many CO's that were almost intollerable...one that hated women and his wife looked like a beaten dog, hardly ever speaking. Then there was another that would say anything that came into his head, no matter how hurtful. Usually, his talks were all about how we did not do enough, did not sing loud enough, etc. But the worst were the CO's wives!!! Remember Angelo C******** anyone? He stay with us when I was first married and both of us pioneering. We rented a mobile home at the time and mom spent alot of time helping me fix up with new curtains etc. Well, Bro C******** was very nice. But his wife said some of the most hurtful things. She made it clear to us that these accomodations were beneath her and why didn't anyone with a larger house offer. Usually, I was not one to say anything, but she made me so mad, that I said to her, "Well, the elders came and asked us to have you stay since NO ONE offered to have you". She looked so incensed that she just got up and went to bed. The next night she asked if we were buying this trailer. I said that were were considering it. She said that we should get out of "this dump" and find a real house. Wow, she was a real pain in the a**.

i was with a ex-jw for 5 years or shall i say disfellowshipped but still never moved on!

anyways the whole time we were together no birthdays, funerals, weddings (only reception not church), thanksgiving, christmas.

i always felt alone and like i would offend him celebrating these things.

I remember when my grandfather died. My parents were having a tough time deciding if they were going to enter the church or not. (My immediate family are the only ones that are JWs) I was already on my way out, so I made it clear that I was going into the church to pay my respects and to support my very loving grandma. I told dad that he could do as he chose. He tried right up til the funeral itself to convince me to stay out of the church. I was well into adulthood at the time and told him that I had made my decision, he could do what he thought was right for him. They ended up going into the church, but were miserable about it, and this caused quite a bit of hurt.

Now that I am df'd and totally free, I celebrate holidays, especially Christmas. I love Christmas!!!!

To go, or not to go?

i'm planning a small vacation in about 2 month's time.

i'll be going back to the city where i spent my teens through twenties.

as you can imagine, this place holds a lot of memories for me-both good and bad.

I agree with xjw about being in the elders radar....you don't want to draw attention to yourself or they will try to find you and you will lose the peace you have now.

thank you all for the kind words from those who posted on the other thread about the student of mine who was found dead from a gunshot wound on tuesday....i have more to get off my chest...

?..i went to the funeral today.

it was held in a funeral home.

Lisa, I am so sorry you had to go through this. Hang in there. You did the right thing in going to the funeral, even if it was a jolt when you found out it was a JW one. My thoughts are with you.

belief in angels & demons, the same as extraterrestrials?

are angels/demons/god in fact aliens?

i know that word 'alienz' will put a lot of people off, but really, are extraterrestrials the same thing as the beings in the bible, and is it just a choice in terminology of which words we are more comfortable with using, if you think they are not the same thing, why do you think this?.

I haven't formed a firm opinion, but since you bring it up, maybe the extraterrerstrials are just another life form that was either created or came to be just like the angels and demons. Maybe they are being left on their own to see what they will do, the same as we are (if you believe in that).

hi all, as you know, my sister in law is dying.

well, i had my daughter, who was never baptised call to see what is going on, since they obviously will not talk to me about it.

they finally found what she has.

Hi all, as you know, my sister in law is dying. Well, I had my daughter, who was never baptised call to see what is going on, since they obviously will not talk to me about it. They finally found what she has. Bone Cancer. Yep, the big "C" word. Since she is down to 76lbs, she is very weak. They have her on some new type of medication and morphine. She actually got up and walked today. I wish there was something I could do. Still no contact from my parents, not even to tell my daughter, who they at least used to try to keep in touch with. Oh well, thanks to you all I am feeling better about all that. It still hurts, but your support means so much. Just thought I would let you know the outcome so far. Thanks again.

less than a week left

my fiance and i have less than a week left until we get married.

we are doing well now that we are done having our bachlor and bachlorette parties.

we both are ready now, we wish that the day was here already so we can get over the nerves and get to our honeymoon.i wish we could have invited everyone here but unfortunately we were not able to swing it.
