Yes, it's fine, no explanation is necessary; do it if you want to, don't let the religious fanatics influence you!

Who is leading this organization?
by Strawberryfieldsforever inwhen i was still a jw, i thought that god was really working through these men at the wts.
i trusted them and i believed everything they printed to us.
now that i am out for so many years and can stand back and look at the organization without a brainwashed mind, i really wonder who runs this.

I don't think Satan exists, so he/she/it has nothing to do with it.
I do believe that back in the 1970's & 1980's it was run primarily by the governing body and those closely associated with them. But presently I feel that the organization is run by a group of very shrewed marketers, lawyers, accountants, and other business professionals. A lot of the biblical craziness (prophecies, etc.) is no longer prominent in the literature. It has been replaced by propaganda techniques, solicitaion of contributions, and reinforcement of biblical interpretaion that involves controling masses of people.
I have been out since 2000 or so, but I still know a lot of JW's having never been DF'd. -

My father and my best friend's father and they were best friends too.
Actually, psychopaths aside, it seems like the congregations I knew of had many people with a variety of mental disorders. Now I realize that a person who accepts insane religious BS, must be unstable to begin with. -

Alana, I agree with you completely about the negative effects of sheltering JW adolescents and teens. I was one of those sheltered teens, sneaking around with JW girls, one of girls felt guilty about "immorality" and confessed. I was reproved, but the worst part was the incredible guilt trip everyone laid on me, as if I did something insane or unnatural. When I finally realized that I didn't do anything wrong, I improved greatly emotionally.
Also, it seems as though in almost every congregation there are stories of marital infidelity. All of the local congregation in the area where I grew up had incidents that everyone seemed to know about. Plus, in many cases when these marital scandals take place all of the people involved stay in the same congregation, That's crazy! -

You'll die if you don't go to meetings
by Bonnie_Clyde inlast sunday's watchtower admits (p. 17) that "we are not under the mosaic law.
" but in the next paragraph it says that just as the tithing arrangement was not optional for the israelites, meeting attendance is also not optional for christians.
the first page of the february 2004 kingdom ministry tells us why.

Excellent point Simplesally about principles being laws. In fact, my brother (an MS) told me that at the meeting they had with the CO a couple of months ago, they were told to treat prinicples as laws and that the priniciples come from the "faithful slave." Can the organization get anymore controlling?

There are a lot of women who will whore themselves out for the giddy satisfaction of you disgusting people.
The Man Show obviously degrades women. I hope you people never complain about the subjugation of women in the WTBTS (or other religious groups; Islam, etc.), that would be hypocritical. -

To add to all that, the GB had overdue book charges of upwards of $37.40. Apparently Brother Henshel refused to return his borrowed copy of Danielle Steel's "To Love Again"

The last month I reported field service time (three years ago) I wrote 9.6 hours because the elders told me I should get at least the publisher average.

Hidden Images; last time.
by Hunyadi inthanks again to all those who responded with an open mind to my postings regarding hidden images in the wt publications, but wow, i have heard from some pretty forceful personalities who are apparently still pissed off about getting duped by the wtbts.
so many flames, so many flamers .
calm down, get some pot, get some beer, get some therapy, but please get over it and yourselves.
