The funds here appear to be intended to help JWs avoid using blood products.
I don't see that happening here. Care to point out where you saw that?
was doing some searching today and came across this information:.
http://www.state.nj.us/dobi/acrobat/lhsplist.pdf -- a permit was issued by the state of new jersey to the wtbts on nov. 14, 2002 allowing them to set up a charitable gift annuity.
the way you can tell this is for a cga is to go to the website's site map and then click on the charitable annuity special permits link.

http://www.state.nj.us/dobi/acrobat/lhsplist.pdf -- A permit was issued by the state of New Jersey to the WTBTS on Nov. 14, 2002 allowing them to set up a Charitable Gift Annuity. The way you can tell this is for a CGA is to go to the website's site map and then click on the Charitable Annuity Special Permits link. This opens up the pdf file above which lists the WTBTS as #193 as being a donor to the Saint Barnabas Foundation.
The website of the Saint Barnabas Foundation has instructions on setting up a CGA here.
The thought had crossed my mind of the WTBTS being a donor in a way that they would support the medical group if they were a no-blood facility --- possibly donating money if the hospital network managed the funds to purchase equipment used in treating patients with no-blood. Seeing that this permit was issued back in 2002, you would think that the Noblood.org site would have picked up on it if the hospital offered a blood conservation program. But the Saint Barnabas Health Care System is no where to be found.
So is the WTBTS charitable afterall, or is there another reason I may be overlooking?
i've been having several outbreaks of conspiracy theories lately and a wierd one that came to mind was if anyone has ever met minimus in person before?
think about it....what better way is there to gather intel on a rather large group of ex and current jw's than to ask detailed questions on every facet of your life?
typically, someone that has over a few thousand posts has been to a meetup of some sort, even a small one.
I have to admit, I used Min as an example for what I wanted to say. His "personality" was the first to pop into my mind as I was thinking about how the WTS monitors this site(I know he was the target many times before). Over the years of posting on the web, I just finally got tired of hiding so damn much. And it was the WTS eavesdropping on this site which is what eventually brought me down.
I know most folks are very careful as to what they reveal about themselves, but I just wanted to bring it up again and emphasize greatly that if the WTS wants to, they will do everything they can in their power to find you.
I guess hosting the BoE letters on dirtclod.com at one time was reason enough to come after me. Sure, that is a big ticket item, but seeing that they are also going after Quotes -- a site I never thought they would target -- they can come after anyone if they get the itch.
I know you're not a mole Min -- I was just bustin' your balls. It is funny though that after 15k posts, I've never heard about you attempting to attend any meetups. That's just funny to me....I figured you would want to meet some of these fine folks in person.

I am a mole.
I knew it!!
does anyone have any ideas for a birthday gift/surprise/whatever for a 24 year old?
my brother turns 24 tomorrow and has never had a family member do anything for his birthday.
i would like to do something but really have no idea what to do.
Our neighbor had a bunch of friends/family/co-workers pile out of a huge stretch limo(must have been at least 15 people) and surprised her for her 30th birthday. A friend of hers must have made plans to do something(just the two of them), cause they parked down the street and she went to her house to get her. As they walked out, everyone started to sing happy birthday on the street as she came closer. The champagne was already cracked before they got into the limo.

Typically, someone that has over a few thousand posts has been to a meetup of some sort, even a small one. But has anyone here ever met or seen Minimus in person, let alone a picture? Anonymity is very important, I know. But there are those of us who tempted fate by going to a meetup while still a witness under the threat of being df'd if found out about. When this type of occurance happens(with current jw's), we usually ask not to be photographed, or at least ask to be blurred out of any pictures that are posted to the web.
We already know that WTS HQ monitors this board. THIS IS A FACT, not speculation. If you give out just enough information about yourself - where you live, type of work you do, car you drive, etc etc., it wouldn't be very hard for a detective-like person to track you down.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I take most stories/experiences by some posters with a grain of salt. The ones that I have met in person, I trust implicitly.
I'm not sure if this post will rub some folks the wrong way or not. It's just that I was a victim of giving out too much information and it bit me hard in the end. When it did bite me, I even asked Simon to 'hide' my previous posts from my old alias. At that time, it was so that the WTS couldn't have more ammo to bury me with. Just as an FYI, I was presented with around a half-inch of printouts from this site by two of my local elders. Again, the WTS DOES MONITOR THIS SITE and will use whatever you say here against you if the need arises.
Just be careful.
Catchthis....aka Jourles
(edited to add)The printouts came from the Society via mail, not from the elders doing the legwork.
anyone seen this or have heard more on the truthfulness of it?.

This article on their website is 5 years old.
It might be possible though that a few of the GB wanted this change to take place, but two-thirds couldn't be achieved. Or two-thirds was achieved, but someone retracted their vote.
for years i've been wondering if i should do this or not.
there are only a handful(ok, maybe more than a handful) that know who i am and what i look like and who i used to post as.
let's just say that i got my start here on simon's board roughly a day or two after it opened and was associated with h2o even further back.
Just a shameless bttt to see if anyone recognizes my pic or any of the congregations listed...
check this out!
someone just mailed me this excerpt from:.

Hmmmm.....
What does a blonde normally say after having sex?
"Are all you guys on the same team?"
