No I am just the opposite. I think rules are definitely made to be broken. Critical thinking is the essence that we use to progress as a society. What is critical thinking, basically not following the rules. Just my take...pc

Are You/ Were You Careful To Follow Rules??
by minimus inwhen we were in the organization, i noticed that some persons wanted rules.
needed them!
there are people in society that also feel secure when they have stricter rules than not.

As I sit here posting the bookshelves next to me are completely filled with Watchtower and Awake bound volumes. I was looking through a 1972 bound volume and the question from readers was ....why did the Mosaic law prohibit the eating of fat? I just started cracking up. The answer was that both blood and fat belong exclusively to Jehovah. At that point I decided to go and pour myself another glass of wine..LOL

I am visiting my dad in Fl. with my kids for a few days. He wanted to bring one of my sons to the meeting tonight and I said no. He of course had printed articles waiting for me about the cross and Christmas. My dad is elderly but I can't help myself from getting into arguments with him. Why do I feel I have to get him to see the truth. I am pretty tough when it comes to arguing. I told him today that the Watchtower is a false prophet and a cult. I then feel so quilty because he is so old and I am so brutal about the whole thing. I just have so much contempt for thier lies and bull$hit!!
Also can someone give me a link to all the false end of the times list. I think blondie may have written it.
I am so happy I can come here to vent and I know you all understand....Thanks

Two lovely "sisters" came to visit this morning. It was pretty hysterical because my nine year old ran up to my bedroom yelling "mom the Jewish people are at the door". I'm like "what jewish people"? He then say's " you know like grandpa". I say "oh you mean Jehovah's Witnesses".
So I go to the door, and mind you my husband has left to pick up my other son from Lacrosse pratice and said please be ready to leave when we get back. So I think "should I engage them or not". Of course being me I say " of course". I open the door and they say thier usual.
I first try to stay kind of netural, but of course that won't do for me. I then tell them I know that they are JW's. I tell them both my dad and brother are. They try to pin me on when I left but I don't bite. I tell them I believe in God, but feel all religion is a farce. I explain to them how I really closed the door on witnesses, when my mom was dying from a blood disease and I researched the policy on my own. I explained the ridiculous way they interpet the policy. I said I don't care if you take blood or not it is certainly up to your own consience. The one sister thens asks me specifically what changes I think the society made. I then hit her with the whole organ transplant stance.(Thank you , thank you Blondie and quotes). I say to her " does it make any sence to you that an organ obviously containly blood is a consience decision and yet blood is not. So you can have lettece or tomatoe or italian dressing, but you can't have a salad. Seems pretty ridiculous if you ask me". I then say listen I know how this whole thing goes, but you came here I didn't come to you. She acknowledges that she asked me, not sure what that means. Anyway she asked if she could come back if she had some answers, I said fine....to be continued

Tough day -- my mom died today
by cruzanheart inpoor thing, she's had alzheimer's for about 10 years and the last year she's been on hospice care because she's been so close to death.
the past few months she's been slowly filling up with water -- they gave her lasix (not sure of the spelling) to relieve the edema and it worked, sort of.
last weekend she actually looked a little better.

Nina,
My thoughts are with you and your family. So sad to lose your Mom, first from such a devasting desease and then the final loss. I do know first hand the relief that your mom's no longer suffering in that condition. Again (((so sorry))).... PC

Hi to everyone!
I post here on and off but always read everyones post to see what's happening. Lately I have had this really strong desire to just say screw it this is who I am and write it here. I told my husband who has never been a witness, but he is afraid that someone will try to DF me.I have faded for a really long time. Only my dad, one brother and sister-in-law remain as JW's. I am just tired of the Watchtowers crap and feel like saying screw you I am not afraid of you.
Does anyone remember that movie Network, and they all just screamed out "I am mad as hell and I am not going to take it anymore". That's how I feel.
Am I crazy??? pc
