  i can't just give up believing in god,but its understandable when god was taking from you,i hope you find peace gods not in a building!

  and he does forgive you when you go to your private place sometimes you can't right a wrong,as long as you add the one you wronged and mean it,we pay all sins through death,christ did that for us!

  Thrust into the middle again

  i have been very lucky over the past few years to have a good relationship with my mom (she's a long time faithful jw and i'm a long time df'd person) and avoid any contact with the rest of the jw world.

  unfortunately, this has all rapidly changed in the past several weeks.

  my mom was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness and has only a short time to live.

  Do Paul's Letters Really Count?

  if there is anyone here with some heavy bible knowledge, i would like to throw this nugget up in the air.

  in 2 timothy 3:16, paul reminds us that "all scripture is inspired of god and beneficial for teaching...." nwt (because that was the version that was sitting nearby).

  my question is: did paul consider the personal letters he wrote to the various churches and to timothy, titus, and philemon as scripture?

  my wife planned to get her two-hours of service time on saturday - like we did every month.

  Everyone can rag on me for this if you want and I don't know the man in question but I would personally rather only one person came out to comfort me. I would find a large group overwhelming and obnoxious. They can send their condolences later but to be swarmed would have been quite undesirable for me if I had been in his position.

  this is actually a serious question.. when i was a jw, i was taught all kinds of things about how horrible the rcc is.

  i believed it.

  many years after leaving the wts, i began looking into the rcc for myself and discovered that everything i had been told about the rcc by the wts was a lie.

  I don't. In fact I find that catholics probe into my life a lot less than mormons and evangelicals and that is just fine in my book. Besides my love of gothic beauty extends to cathedrals and all manner of pomp and circumstance.

  we often have threads about what type of funeral/burial/epitaph we would like.

  lately i've been drawn to the idea of a simple burial with a pine coffin so i could return quickly and naturally to the earth.

  I think typically people who opt for a burial as opposed to cremation would not necessarily be attracted to the idea but that's just me.

  i have a few which still either anger me, make me sad or just make me grateful that i am no longer one of them.

  1 - "well, everyone is going to die anyway, so if it at armageddon then ce la vie" 2 - "the disater today at the world trade centre is sad, but exciting" 3 - (an elder) "when armageddon happens, i want to be at a window, watching it all".
