An almost normal day in dubdom
by Mysterious inwow i must say today was an almost normal day in dubdom if you ignore the few points of terror.
i got to go hang with a world friend for a few hours and get my christmas present.
and of course today was my last day ever to go door to door and my second last watchtower preparation.

Wow I must say today was an almost normal day in dubdom if you ignore the few points of terror. I got to go hang with a world friend for a few hours and get my christmas present.
And of course today was my last day ever to go door to door and my second last watchtower preparation.
But there were a few small ways mom decided to make me miserable. Just by getting up this morning I was told that I "made Jehovah smile by doing the right thing [and going door to door]". And then there was the woman in the car group who told mom what an excellent example I am. I wonder what she'll say next week. And of course mom going on at length about how much she enjoys our family study, how much closer to me it makes her feel, how grateful she is for us taking the opportunity to learn more.

Are You Still SEARCHING For The "Truth"?
by minimus infor many of us, we are "all searched out".
i'm presently, not looking for all that much.
are you yearning for "truth"?

I don't believe that there is one "truth" or one right path. I believe everyone needs to choose the path that is right for them. People need to be left alone to find the spiritual path that is right for them. As long as they are happy with it and it doesn't hurt anyone no one should have a right to object or force something else on them.

beware : evil cushions
by lurk inwas reading a post by cruithnelaluna in it she said her music was viewed as wrong because of its roots .
indian classical music (ravi shankar and the like) - philosophical rooted in, and inseparable from, hinduism .
made me think about a book of design history which explains the progression from arachic to modern design .i amazed to see all the designs we use today rooted in ancient design.

It amazes me how the witnesses insist Pagan = demonic when it's not.
I think it would be more scandalous to plant some smurf statues in their flower beds..

Hilarious 'Christian' Kids Site...
by cypher50 inif you thought growing up as a witness was bad,
at least you didn't put up with self-righteous cartoon characters.

Have you ever been dobbed in, and for what??????????
by BLISSISIGNORANCE intoday was a good day.
saturday, no witnessing, no meeting prep, no skirt and no dubs, no rush to do anything in particular, went to the mall to get some things, bumped into my brother (non dub) and his partner and my 3yo neice, had coffee with them and hubby, chatted, came home, kelpie dropped by to visit, went grocery shopping with my neighbour, ......................just to mention a few things.
doing what i wanted to do!.

When I was younger we rented a video game that had "spells" and things like walking skeletons in it. (it was an rpg). The friend's mother started reading the manual and then she got mad and told us it was demonic. She took it away and called my mom. Who then made me get rid of it. I was never allowed to play any games in that series after because it had a bad reputation.

Some of them are fanatic about scriptures. Mom's real hard core. She always is on a guilt trip if she didn't remember to read one. Was always after me to read one too, I never did it and I'm never going door to door again (today was my last day!)

Stages of Change
by Mysterious ini read this article in a magazine and typed up part of it for a friend but i thought it was interesting.
maybe someone else will get some benefit out of it to:.
phase one: dissolving.

I have quite a collection of articles, papers and stuff stashed away, and often pull them out to read again.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who does things like that. I filled a notebook for a while. The rest are stashed in text files all over my hard drive.

Traveling Overseers- Extended Training
by pillsbury ini have heard that the co's and do's are being systematically called back to ny for extended training.
now normally this is no big deal as they do go back from time to time for training but this time it is for a 8-9 week training course (without their wives).
from what i have heard they are going to be emphasizing more oversite or control over the congregations from a circuit level (i am sure they are discussing other issues as well).

Poor things... how else are they going to satisfy their fleshly desires?
Oh let me guess. It might be the same old way they always use when the wife is not around.Of course not, that's a sin just ask the WTS. Hehe. As if that ever stopped anyone..

If you left JW's, somebody persuaded you -- you couldn't decide on your own
by Gopher inhave you ever heard this from a jw relative or friend?
it seems that jw's believe that, unless you're really evil -- you're weak.
so weak, that you need others to help you decide whether or not to stay with the jw's.. my jw dad (a congregation elder) said i sounded "just like my sister" who had da'd herself years earlier.

I'm sure my mother will blame my father and if my best friend leaves I'll take the heat for it. In some ways it's true, we can make someone doubt enough to leave. But to say that everyone had to leave because they were persuaded (read: forced into it) is totally wrong.
