  When JWs call...

  living with a dub mother has our house exempt right now.

  but trust me she preaches enough.

  anyone know if they manage to work their way in to calling on dorm residences, i want to have my copy of "how to identify a cult handy".

  After i resigned they kept calling on me,sending different ones,giving me books/tracts/WT I asked several times politely no more visits,.......more visits.then i wrote to them...............more visits...................this went on for some time,they ignored my requests.The last pioneer sister/brother lokked into my eyes to see if they were glassed over...............they said "Well you look normal".................

  I really saw then how mental they were not me..............Finally because of their persistence,i put a sticker up in the window saying No Visits from JWS.i also wrote to the PO saying i would phone the police.................No more visits for a while,then when 9/11 came JWS were out in force knocking on every door saying THIS IS IS THIS IS THE DAY..........

  In my town they are trying to recruit ex-members,don't know if this is the same elsewhere.

  info on why JWs can't go into other churches

  What do you belive happens to us after we die?

  i was raised a jehovah's witness and like most are aware, they presently belive that by and large everyone who dies ceases to exist.

  i accepted this fate for most of my life and i guess i still do for the most part, but now that i do not go to the meetings what am i to accept death to be, as i will die as well as my friends and family at some point.

  i think that idea of being in gods memory made sense to me as i have excepted it for forty five of my fifty years of being alive.

  In the Revelation,john saw "the dead,small and great,stand before god;and the books were opened;and another book was opened;which is the book of life;and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books,according to their works"(Rev 20:12).

  I know of B/A christians who go into Kingdom Halls as interested persons ,borrow books usually with names or addresses,note the address then send then Christmas cards with a Christian tract or message.

  last year i had a new cooker,the previous year,microwave,household items and pigs (I collect piggin)this year some perfume,new posh clothes would be nice(hopefully)

  Oh deary me.step outside for a moment and see what is really going on.talk to victims of abuse,And all the Elders being arrested?and all the Elders being demoted?I am sorry but you must wake up to the facts,While The elders are to b respected in your eyes,they must not abuse,sadly today more and more Elders are being exposed for their evil deeds.Spiritual shephards they are not!

  Just lost our parents....

  well, the shunning begins.

  we finally had "the" discussion with my parents, that we no longer consider ourselves jw's, and a little bit of why we felt that way.

  of course, "dad the elder and po" and mom the pioneer dutifully informed us that not only will they be "loyal to the organization" and shun us completely, but that he would immediately let the other elders know, so that proper judicial action could be taken.. it was a heart wrenching discussion, with all of us, including my two young boys (9 and 10) all balling our eyes out.

  Brandon and family,

  So sorry to hear of your situation,I can only begin to imagine how you must feel,Shunning is a terrible ordeal,i have experienced this recently but only from friends and that hurt,Family..well that is really hard.The emotional roller coaster ride of leaving JWS is bad enough,You see how far away from scriptures they have gone,they are a law unto themselves.Church discipline is scriptural,but like everything JWS do they put their own meanings onto it,and take it to extremes.
