okay...the fluff is running rampant on jwd this weekend, so i'm just jumpin' in with my .02...... i hate the way fashion designers dictate what we're gonna be wearing for the next year or two or three (if they can't come up with something new and innovative or retro to titillate the egos).
take for instance those needle-nosed shoes they're pandering to the public lately.....besides being extremely uncomfortable and likely to trip the wearer up with the extra length required to extend the toes of the shoes to a needle point, has anyone seen what they do to ppl's feet years later???
just visit your local nursing home and take a gander at all the hammer toes, bunions and crossed toes of old peeps that were slaves to similar fashions decades ago!
The neckline and the arm holes (on sleeveless tops) don't need to be that big!! I have an awful time finding tanks or sleeveless tops (I live in Phoenix, remember - we need sleeveless!) that don't show the whole side of my bra!
I agree completly! Or how about a strapless bra that is actually comfortable and supportive for us more "well endowed" women. Do they honestly think those tank tops with the built in bras hold up anything past a B cup?

I admit I like the pointy toes and the higher the heel the better.
The one popular style out now that I cannot stand is the shirts with the huge bell sleeves. Ugh! Those do no look attractive on anyone.

today is day 8 and i have lost 5 pounds!!.
i am never hungry, and feel so good.
Congrats Mulan! I have been on it for about a week and have lost 5lbs also. I didn't think I was going to make it through the first few days, mostly because no sugar meant no more soda! But like you I feel great now and don't crave anything.

my best friend -- who hasn't been to a meeting in three months and has referred to isaiah books i and ii as "shit" -- has connections with the outer periphery of the organization's young folk.
Surreptitious......just about anything.
Tons of underage drinking, thats not so shocking though. Drug use, sex, homosexuality, group sex. You name it, it went down at these parties.
Then of course thier concious would bother them and they would go cry and "repent" to the elders. The next weekend we would be out doing the same things. It cracks me up when I see some of the guys I used to party with now. They'll walk by and smirk at me with thier sweet little dub wives by thier side. I just have to laugh.
I still consider myself a partier, but I think I'm actually tamer now than when I was a dub.

Sex, drugs and rock n roll saved me. It was my out. It wasn't until after I left the dubs that I realized how truly f'ed up thier "belief system" was.
As to the orginial post...I can still to this day say some of the wildest parties I've ever attended were dub parties. I saw or participated in just about anything you could imagine at them. Of course they are all in "good standing" now.
the last little while there have been many talks on sex at the sunday meetings.
it is sickening!
they are very explicit in nature.. don't they realize that there are many children in the audience that are not really ready to hear this particular information?.
Yes those talks were always uncomfortable. But you should have heard some of our local needs talks. Talk about squirming in your chair.

sisters would wear a dress that was 1 inch above the knee just to get the brothers going.
or brothers would grow something a little longer than a mustache......what did you do to exert your independence??

Good for him freeman! It seems especially hard at his age. But he'll soon find true friends. And they'll be a hell of alot more fun. He's lucky to have someone like you who understands what he's going through.
