i noticed quite a few former elders commenting on the thread:
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=37801&site=3&page=1
i thought it was amusing that about 20 percent of the bethelites in my department at bethel have left the organization.

as i went about my wifely duties today, i had a thought and would like the imput from some former brothers and/or elders, ms, po, co's.. since leaving the borg, has the way you view your wife/companion/daughter/sister/mother changed?
let me elaborate.
while being brought up a dub, i was taught that women were in subjection.
Well, While I wasnt raised a witness, both my parents had strong Christian values. Both of them believed in the equality of humans, their ethnicity, colour, age or gender notwithstanding. The idea of superiority expounded by the WBTS, while interesting, was not one I actively practiced nor promoted. On occasion, I was gently reminded of my scriptual obligation to follow the counsel in the bible. Since leaving the organization, my life has become much easier, not having to deal with this conflict and I find the relationships with my wife and daughter have improved due to the elimination of this constant underlying negative attitude. I likewise see great times ahead for my two year old granddaughter who already shows signs of a very independent and stubborn person.
As a side note, my boss is a woman with whom I have a tremendous rapport.

mildred was a 93 year-old woman who was particularly despondent over the recent death of her husband earl.
she decided that she would just kill herself and join him in death.
thinking that it would be best to get it over with quickly, she took out earl's old army pistol and made the decision to shoot herself in the heart since it was so badly broken in the first place.

Thinking that it would be best to get it over with quickly, she took out Earl's old Army pistol and made the decision to shoot herself in the heart since it was so badly broken in the first place. Not wanting to miss the vital organ and become paralyzed, she called her doctor's office to inquire as to just exactly where the heart would be. "On a woman," the doctor said, "your heart would be just below your left breast." Later that night, Mildred was admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her left knee.

i have announced i am on a crusade to encourage skeptics to think on the issue in a way they probably have never done before.
i initially have made the mistake of cramming everything into one, two or three posts.
this i should have immediately recognized is an impossibilty because what i have in mind requires a great amount of meditation to fu;;y comprehend.
I think some of you folks have WAY too much time on your hands.

i can't say for certain that the two women who called at our door yesterday were jws but i would be incredibly surprised if they weren't.
you know the witness walk, the bag, the clothes.
the makeup ... everything about them screamed "witnesses".. so what did they want?.
There has been a special arrangement for the hearing impaired here on the West Coast for a number of years. In one hall there is a special section for signing, and several witnesses are specially trained to do the signing. They also have their own territories and assignments for locating people who need this special service.
Doesn't surprise me though. We also had a huge sex abuse scandal at the School for the Deaf here and the result was the school was shut down. I guess the Witnesses see an opportunity in the making.

simon thomas: i think all of them could have been saved.
" and i'd heard this, obviously, and i approached the elder that my father spoke to and i said, "look, my brother's telling the truth because it's also happened to me.
simon thomas: that elder that we spoke to at that time was john wingate.
Thank you so very much for posting the transcript. We were hoping to watch the actual show, however this is the next best thing and we did mention the show to a friend of ours who has relatives in Oz. We're hoping they at least will look at it,then get back to us. Only time will tell.

we've brought forward this weekend's poll because we're sure to have other things on our mind tomorrow!
just in case you missed it, try this link: .

Well, we wouldn't be visited by any elders, because when we stopped meeting attendance, we had just moved into a new circuit, and didn't get to know anyone in the area. As well, when I served in previous congregations, we only formed a close friendship with one other servant. If they ever visited the conversation would probably go something like this:
US: Hi you guys, come on in.
THEM: How are you, getting to the meetings?
US: No, we're having a little trouble with a few issues like the changing date thing, and the changing blood issue thing, and the UN involvement issue. (Ask #18 & 12)
THEM: Those are stumbling blocks put out by apostates, you shouldn't be listening to that stuff.
US: It's not apostate thinking at all. You need to look into it for yourselves.
BROTHER THEM: Anyway, I see you're still wearing that beard. You should really get rid of it.
SISTER THEM: You know, I've never understood the fuss over beards; I think some brothers look great in them.(Looking at me) Alfie really suits his, and he always keeps it trim and neat. What's the big deal?
US: (Ask# 6) It seems to be a big problem and yet the organization keeps covering it up and DFing brothers who speak up. Doesn't that bother you?
THEM: What problem? That's just another apostate rumour, now the churches ; they have a scandal to be worried about.
US: Are you afraid to face facts? Why won't you look into it?
THEM: Hey, did you see (insert whichever C&W concert was on TV) last night. It was really good. OK< let's go and eat, we're hungry!!

well, here we are with the twentieth of our weekend polls!
doesn't time fly when you're having fun!
this weekend's poll is a serious topic and invites us to exercise our dub trained minds to solve a problem in helping us to reach to those who want to honestly look at their situation within the organisation.
Good morniny everyone,
I'd have to say #'s1,7 and 9 are the reasons of choice because when we sent the information re the two programs to a friend of ours and received a very terse letter in return citing those three reasons why he and his wouldn't be watching either of the shows. Indeed, he even went so far as to say that should we persist in talking of such things, our friendship was in jeopardy. We responded that should our association and friendship stop, the choice would be his and not ours. So far we still correspond.

due to the negative connotations that result from the word "apostate".
how about if from here and now we consider ourselves antipathetics instead.
what do you think simon & all?
Hi again,
I've changed my mind. APOSTATE it is and always will be!!
