due to the negative connotations that result from the word "apostate".
how about if from here and now we consider ourselves antipathetics instead.
what do you think simon & all?

for those who have left the organization, have any of you gone to another church?
or did being a jw simply turn you off religion altogether.
i feel i would like to still belong to a religious group (that's just in my personality) but of course, i would feel really guilty at first going in to "babylon the great".
Since we've left WTBS, my wife and I have occasionally talked of attending a church as opposed to joining one. I know that my wife would benefit from some more interaction with people outside of our family, and is more keen on the idea of getting to know new folks and I will support any decision she makes, whereas i'm quite comfortable just getting reaquainted with our families.
The best advice we got so far is from my mom who is very active in her church and who is ecstatic that we are no longer witnesses. She suggested that even if we never set foot in another religious institution, we should try to maintain our spirituality. That's my two cents, for what it's worth.

ok, you've probably guessed i'm not talking about the women!.
but jesus had a beard (just look at any wt publication) so did paul, john the baptiser (or baptist if you've got an earlier publication), etc.. surely all jw men should have beards!
they are christians (the only true ones) aren't they?
When I first became a witness, I wore a beard and continued to wear one for a number of years. Very few in the congregation ever bothered me about it, and one elder even wanted to reccommend me for MS in spite of the beard.

one of the first "privileges" any prospective witness has is that of being a publisher.of course, once you're a publisher, you are one for life.
so, either you are a "good" publisher or a "bad" one.
a good publisher has to get the national average,be a "good" example, and pretty much do whatever the elders ask of you.
Well I was one of those GOOD!! publishers, you know, the kind the elders were always on the lookout for. My wife, daughter and I were sooo regular in service it was, now that I look back on it, sickening. To miss a meeting or field service was akin to heresy. Oh, and did the elders like me. I wasn't baptized 6 months and they wanted to reccommend me for MS. I felt really uncomfortable with that though so it went nowhere; but I would frequently fill in as a BS conductor when the elder assigned to our group was away, even though there was a MS who was supposed to be his assistant. My wife would often Aux. Pio. and was very hospitable to others in the hall. Yes indeedy, we were some FINE, GOOD publishers alright. Too bad we were morons too. Oh well, que sera.

yes, i know what the wts teaches....but what do you believe?.
if god exists why is there is so much suffering both among humans and even more so among his creation, where all animals must, deceive then eat one another to survive?
if he does not exist why is there is so much suffering both among humans and even more so among nature where all animals must eat one another to survive?
This reminds me of an old Star Trek episode where Kirk et al were forced onto a planet by this big egocentric guy dressed like Zeus and he wouldn't let anybody go until they all worshipped him. Nobody was allowed to think for themselves because he had all the answers and would give all those who kowtowed to him everything their corrupt little hearts desired. Of course Jim figured out Zues' weakness and saved the day, so I figure we just have to wait until stardate year whatever and some space guys will come and rescue us all. Meanwhile; back at the ranch....

with autumn in the air, my thoughts start turning to the holidays ahead.
are any of you doing christmas or thanksgiving?.
i do, but i have to be so careful, incase any jw family would happen to drop by.
Holidays? You betcha!! Did last year, will this year too. My attitude is the same toward the WTBS as it was to my family when I got goofy and became a winess, "It's my life and I'll do as I want thank you very much.

yes, on this special day downunder, it's father's day.
families have been gathering, cemetery visits made to place flowers on graves, children giving touching notes of affection.
and it's the first day of spring here in aussie!
Hello all,
ALL of the above.
how's the weekend goin'?
been too busy to think on really serious things?
that's good, because this poll doesn't require too much thinking!!
Good morning all!,
Well Qz, I'd have to back up the Mrs. on this one. "Brother(s)" That did it for myself, my wife, and our daughter. Come to think of it, just about every word used by WTBS irked our daughter. The girl was away ahead of her time.

ohhhhh, i'm regretting it now!
today i got ahold of some absolutly delitious banana peppers... like the one's that papa john's serves with their pizza.. my mouth said: "oh yes!
give me more!".
Habanero peppers. Now that's some spicy! My wife makes her own hot sauce with them and man is it good. We were even selling small jars of the sauce to friends and coworkers at one time. They all admitted, it was the best they'd ever tasted. All natural, no preservatives, and fresh. Now we just make for ourselves because it's not always easy to get the peppers here on the West Coast. We eat it on everything(almost) Mmmmmmmmmmmm greeeaat!!
