now that you no longer have any real restrictions, have you allowed yourself to do something "naughty"?
what's your worst vice?

when we were all in the errmmm..eh hem....cough cough..."truth".how did you react to people who said negitive things about the organization and when they called it a cult?
i recall one time, this young man tried to gentally aprouch me,he put his hand on my shoulder and he started to say,its a cult...and i remember my whole body tensed up and i practically went into a seizure to his touch.i just remember he took his hand away from me and stepped back very slowly.he stayed away from me the rest of the nite.lol, poor guy he must have tought i was a complete nutt.. i'm just glad i can laugh about it now,of course i wish i listened to him.. even the other day,i was talking to my mother and she was saying how upset i used to get with her....
I'd have to agree with Target and jws. that was the same reasoning we used, that we weren't following "A MAN", and we reinforced our logic with the thought that since the GB were all of the anointed and therefore spirit begotten, we mere mortals then were being led by none other than Jah himself.

i know some of the people that come to this board, used to go to the beyondjw.com boards.
if you have then you might have known dana, aka wingedgoddess01.
if you did, i am sad to report that yesterday her 14 month daughter died.
Hello Ken, We likewise don't know Dana, but having grandkids we know what joy the little ones bring into our lives. Please express our condolences to Dana and her family. We can't fully appreciate the sorrow they are going through, but we'll keep the family in our thoughts.

yes what is your favourite flavoured halloween candy?
mine is molasses.
chewy and delicious.
Favourite? You have favourite candy? I never realized there was such a thing as favourite candy. I just assumed it was all great.Round, square, cylindrical, wrapped, unwrapped, brown, orange, red, blue, green, black, pink, sticky, gooey, crunchy, smooth, with nuts, without nuts, jellied, boxed, bagged, homemade, store bought, etc., etc., etc.
.Favourite candy; what a marvelous concept.

tips for a safe halloween.
when it appears that you have killed the monster, *never* check to see if it's really dead.
if you find that your house is built upon or near a cemetery, was once a church that was used for black masses, had previous inhabitants who went mad or committed suicide or died in some horrible fashion, or had inhabitants who performed satanic practices in your house move away immediately.
Sirona, perhaps another suggestion would be not to listen to a particular Mike Oldfield album and get into it's groove.

a couple was invited to a swanky masked halloween party.
she got a terrible headache and told her husband to go to the party alone.
he, being a devoted husband, protested, but she argued and said she was going to take some aspirin and go to bed and there was no need of his good time being spoiled by not going.
A couple was invited to a swanky masked Halloween Party. She got a terrible headache and told her husband to go to the party alone.
He, being a devoted husband, protested, but she argued and said she was going to take some aspirin and go to bed and there was no need of his good time being spoiled by not going. So he took his costume and away he went. The wife, after sleeping soundly for one hour, awakened without pain, and as it was still early, she decided to go to the party. In as much as her husband did not know what her costume was, she thought she would have some fun by watching her husband to see how he acted when she was not with him. She joined the party and soon spotted her husband cavorting around on the dance floor, dancing with every nice chick he could and copping a little feel here and a little kiss there. His wife went up to him and being a rather seductive babe herself, he left his partner high and dry and devoted his time to the new stuff that had just arrived. She let him go as far as he wished; naturally, since he was her husband. Finally he whispered a little proposition in her ear and she agreed, so off they went to one of the cars and had a little bang. Just before unmasking at midnight, she slipped away and went home and put the costume away and got into bed, wondering what kind of explanation he would make for his behavior. She was sitting up reading when he came in and asked what kind of a time he had. He said, "Oh the same old thing. You know I never have a good time when you're not there." Then she asked, "Did you dance much?" He replied, "I'll tell you, I never even danced one dance. When I got there, I met Pete, Bill Brown and some other guys, so we went into the den and played poker all evening. But I'll tell you... The guy I loaned my costume to sure had a real good time.

why can't we all just drop it.
talking this to death won't change anything!!!!!!!!!
i don't understand the reason or need to "take sides".
I'll preface my comment by admitting I've not been reading the posts re this situation, so I'm not up to speed per the details as to who said what. From what I have read though, it seems to me that both Ray and Bill have one thing in mind and that is to educate people about the WBTS, albeit from different angles and obviously very different concerns. Whether or not they see everything in the same light should, nevertheless, encourage us to throw all of our support behind both men for, if we allow bickering, fault-finding and name calling to become the focal point amongst ourselves then I fear everything this movement stands for becomes a target for mockery and the entire effort will be for naught. We can rest assured that the WBTS will exploit any and all divisions among it's enemies to the Society's advantage.

i'm a first time poster.
i'm not a jw.
my wife has been a jw for 5 years now.
Hi trybalance, welcome to the board. You are having trouble understanding some of the folks here and their "attitudes".I too, find it difficult to know how some feel, but only because even though I was a witness for many years, I didn't experience the same kind of hurt and trauma that many others did. None of my blood relatives were ever involved with the witnesses, so when I chose to leave the organization, I didn't have to say goodbye to anyone, not knowing whether I'd ever see or hear from them again; many in the WBTS had to endure that pain. Both my wife and I left together, so there was no loss in that regard either. Not so for thousands of others. Our daughter and her husband both ceased their involvement with the Watchtower, ensuring our grandkids would still have us in their lives in a wonderfully normal way. Other JW's aren't so fortunate. The blood issue was never an issue for me personally, as I never believed in using blood for transfusing even before I became a witness, however if anybody close to me died as a result of the imposed religious practice of transfusion refusal, I might harbour different feelings. Although I'd heard talk of child molestation when I was an elder, I was never aware of any actual cases, so I continued serving in the congregation, blissfully thinking that matters were being handled properly and with the children's best interests of primary importance, which is precisely what the WBTS wants everyone to think. Many others were and still are victims; were directly involved with such cases and have seen the cruel and unforgiving results or are just very angry that an organization that claims to represent a loving God can practise such a callous, unloving attitude towards it's most vulnerable and precious members. There are many other reasons why people have such a spiteful attitude towards this organization, and if you continue to peruse this site, you will no doubt learn of many of them. You and I may never understand these feelings, but that's because we haven't and may never lose as much as these many others. At least try to be compassionate and hope that words you share may help in their healing.
