Wasn't there a blurb in a WT in the 80s that was a public apology of sorts from Jackson about the Thriller video?

Was Michael Jackson reproved in 1983 and DF/DA in 1989?
by Olin Moyles Ghost inthere seems to be quite a bit of conflicting information about michael jackson's jw status as a young man.
it's clear that he was raised a witness and that he was a practicing witness (a publisher) in the 1970s and early 1980s.
but there's some uncertainty about (1) whether he was baptized, and (2) whether and when he was df/da.. i was looking around on yahoo answers and found the following question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=aqerwd.lhqkco.59fnqahbrty6ix;_ylv=3?qid=20090628174024aafwsky&show=7.

Thank you, Obed, for creating the first online pro-JW site (Witnesses.net) I've ever participated in and Big Ray for following up with another JW board. Experiencing both communities, a few way dysfunctional members, and all the other stuff happening on the edges of them helped open my eyes and give me courage to see what those nasty apostate Web sites were up to.
I wonder if Ray's cold logic ever crossed outside of the JW box...

It was probably an ironing out of 'a difference of opinion' within the GB after one with seniority twinkled off to heaven.

How do we test our OWN philosophy or world view?
by Terry inthis topic is about the difference between how we see the world and how it really is.. we each have our own way.. some of us try to be mostly rational.. others, prefer a more religious, spiritual or mystical approach.. i'd say most ordinary people (non-specialists) mix the two.. .
with that premise in mind, i say the following:.
dropping an egg on the floor tests the integrity of the egg well-enough as measured against gravity :).

This topic is about the difference between how we see the world and how it really is.
YOU ASSERT something which others cannot test.
How might someone test the love I have for my best friend or fondness I have for my cat?
Just wonderin'

Interesting convo that never was meant to be.....
by Vachi 8 He Is inso, i'm being shanghied into going to this "special talk" dubs got going on tommorow.
and while riding in the car i ask, simply:.
"i'm not saying that's the only stance, i'm saying that this is something that they tell people over and over.".

Special Talks, baptism day, tract campaigns, decreased pioneer hours, one-day assemblies, Bethelite & CO visits are the high points to the never-ending treadmill of the JW life.
Expectation postphoned makes the heart sick. The expectation of the new world postponed decade after decade has made many sick. Without these holidays, JWs would struggle even more to survive...

Trading a real sense of LIFE and DEATH for the Watchtower metaphors
by Terry inthe saddest of all the sad things my eyes have beheld was this one sunny day on a grassy green knoll that led up to an outstretched oak tree beneath which was a tiny coffin with a little red balloon tied on, dizzily dancing in the gusts of summer wind.
the poignancy of that red balloon wrenched my heart with the ugly beauty of it all.
such a small coffin!

How can JW's not believe in the soul and yet believe in the spirit?
by Terry inthis is a real puzzler.. for christendom at large there is no problem in thinking of humans as a body (tent) which houses the soul.. for jehovah's witnesses the human is the tent.
no soul is contained.
(they make "soul" the same as body.).

Are You Raising An Introvert?
by darth frosty inits not easy being an introvert in an extrovert worldespecially when youre a kid.
it is even more difficult if none of the adults in the kids life recognize that the child is an introvert.
this doesnt happen only when the childs parents are extroverts, but also with introverted parents who have never understood their own introverted nature.. .
