i remember at the age of 14, i was studying with a very well respected elder in the congregation.
me, him, and my dad studied together.
every once in a while during the study, he would turn to me and ask me "have you dedicated your life to jehovah?".

HELL NO.
In fact when i got dipped i did it with everything the opposite way... just to see what would happen. Didnt "dedicate" didnt "pray", didnt do nothin, just walked up to the elders asked em what i needed to do, totally went through the motions. Didnt even read that ugly green book they gave me. I was HOPING for some lightning, praying for the Angel of Death to come and lop my head off (i was really suicidal then) anything to liberate me from that drudgery of religious existence. Didnt happen tho. At the assembly I remember standing up front with the other "sheep", listening to the same regurgitated talk about dedication and, "your life from now on". Singing the same damn song, and thinking about some of the things i "repented" from that i had just done the previous night ... then i said "YES".

anyway, been a "baptized" jw since 13 at the cow palace (now 20).... been a "questioning" jw since a few months after my "baptism".... still hang around the jw's... heck i was brought up as one from a tot and all of my good friends are jw's... even my girlfriend is a jw..... sigh... i've told her my stance... i'm way more liberal when it comes to religion and spirituality than i was taught to be, and bless the creator, she still loves me.
but anyway i'm at a continuing crossroads, as far as staying or leaving.... i shan't be in this state of mind for much longer but i'm just trying to get good reasons to pack the bags.... if anyone has some "meat" for me to sink my teeth into pass it my way.. haha, wow i'm spilling my guts and no one even knows me yet lol.

Diamond:: The Cow Palace is in San Francisco, CA. Pretty big place... had about 12,000 ppl there when i got dipped.... very nervous skinny 13 year old....

Joanna:: I keep having this underlying feeling that the WTS is run by a much darker, shadier organization.... so I'm on a quest to find something to link it up to.... maybe not... maybe thats just my own fantasy of finding some dark conspiracy LOL go figure.... but I really want to get my hands on those old "Thy Kingdom Come" books, I've read quotes from them about prophecies set for times in the 1800's and how J.F. Rutherford and company were pulling the dates from Egyptian numerology readings... but yea.. I really just wanna get those old manuscripts.... had a few at the hall but the really controversial ones (Volume 7 or 9 i think) were yanked once again... go figure
