  No, never. I always suffered from the need to exercise reverse discrimination. But seriously, no, I was very uncomfortable around elders, their wives, and especially the C.O. and his wife, unless there was a really special one who didn't believe their own press - like Mary Jo Shen - but rarely even said hello to them, and was uncomfortable when they would come over to me to say hello.

  i will be having major back surgery within a month.

  also, has there been a change on giving & storing your own blood to be used if needed ?

  i know, i know...most of you may be way past this issue now...i am still teetering.

  So maybe it's a little like The Church Lady on Saturday Night Live, which, in its context, is clearly understood to be funny, and for the purpose of ridiculing the one speaking, that is, the Church Lady, for her ridiculous views.

  I used to enjoy talking to the friends whenever I went out in service, either in the car group or standing on the corner, "re-grouping." That was nice.

  plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready, on time for his return.

  this is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs.

  I don't believe in shunning, Pleasuredome, so I will respond, but only for that reason.

  It would be lovely to be this kind of wife - If there were enough men capable of providing for their families so that the woman of the house could have the LUXURY of simply taking care of her home and family.

  the february 14, 2004, issue of the age contains an interesting interview with broadcaster kate langbroek.

  this lady was one of jehovah's witnesses: "acceptance by them is conditional upon you remaining a jehovah's witness.

  i don't have any friends who are witnesses now because i left.".

  I don't know what to say, Plezsh - but Holocaust info is always of interest to me.

  I met a young German man last year at work who seemed sincerely perplexed as to whether the Holocaust accounts were really true! Said something like "I don't know. It's hard to believe that so many good, intelligent, GERMAN people could have been involved in something so horrible."

  Can't help wondering what he's been taught all his life, and by whom!!!

  Thanks so much for posting that article - the more exposure the better. So many Witnesses are probably totally in the dark about their supposedly "clean" and "safe" organization and congregations. Supposed to avoid outsiders - HAH!

  Call Me Neanderthal Man

  i have recently moved from hamburg, germany to near the place the bones of the neanderthal man were found, actually the "neandertal" ("neander valley").

  so, now you can officially call me "neanderthal man"... :-) .

  since my computer is running again i hope to join the discussions more often.
