In our area, it was affectionately known as the "Pioneer Shuffle"! One long-time pioneer sister taught me that when I worked with her one day ( I was never a pioneer for any length of time - no stamina for one thing) - and said I needed to learn it if I was going to work with her. LOL! No problem!

Pioneer Pace!
by The JellyBaby ini never had the priveledge to go to any pioneer school or anything, so i was just wondering if there was any special training for this pace that the pioneers walk at, (it is not just limited to the pioneering ones..but they seem to have it mastered) it is noticeable from a mile away, usually breifcase swinging, one arm gesticulating, but not much progress being made.

Maniputlating the media - from www.ajwrb.org. Worth reading.
by Pole insorry if i am preaching to the choir, but has everyone read this document on the http://www.ajwrb.org site?
i showed it to my mom (half-active jw) yesterday and she was shocked by the amount of spin and manipulation the wts resort to.
i guess it's worth reading by newbies whatever their current "stand on blood" may be.. pole.

My Son is Going Back to Iraq for his Second Tour
by Miata inand i am so angry about it.

I'm so sorry Miata! I truly hope you get your son back home safely, along with all the other men and women serving.
Does your son feel okay about it? If he's proud to serve, maybe you can take some comfort in his honor? I don't know the answer. But I hope you'll both be all right.

Impartiality Watchtower style

Yes, Norm - odd example of "impartiality". Jehovah was rarely impartial it seems. He was instead HIGHLY partial to the ones he chose to favor. Good essay!
Also, side point:
So the leading cause for Gods alleged impartiality was sucking up to Jehovah and become a traitor, or use lies, deceit and tricks to survive the Israeli killing machine.
There seem to be a number of examples in the scriptures of various ones resorting to deceit in order to gain favor, who then received favor / blessings from Jehovah! It was always hard for me to grasp the "righteousness" of this - and Jehovah's demanding and threatening nature was a big turn off for me. Imagine how hard to "serve" this god for so long, never able to love such a personality!
So glad to be aware now.
Thanks so much for your post.

What do you recommend after reading C.O.C. and I.S.O.C.F
by jt stumbler ini have read c.o.c twice.

Great books, jt stumbler! When you get through with those you might be ready for a little light reading, and some great humor, while you digest the first two. I recommend Gary Busselman's writings, if you haven't already read them! He can get pretty deep too - but his humor is really good too.

Sleep Talking
by Low-Key Lysmith inhave any of you guys ever talked in your sleep during a meeting?
-
seeitallclearlynow
Not that I know of, low-key! No one's told me -
But I have talked in my sleep to my sister when we were kids. She used to laugh so hard at me because while still in a sleep state, I would have a nonsensical conversation with her until she would just tell me to go back to sleep.
But have you? Is that why you ask?

Wow Orangefatcat, I didn't realize till now how harshly you chose to blast me! Thanks! I thought I was being supportive. And what's more, I've always liked you but I noticed that you have never once responded to me when I address you on the board. Well okay. Now I see why. Thanks for letting me know in this most kind, thoughtful way, dear lady.

Questions to ask Ray Franz?
by Released insunday the 17th iwill be meeting him for the fist time.
i would like some feedback as to any questions you all may have(i have a bunch of my own) of which i will post next sunday night.
please keep them as short as possible so i,m not carrying a whole book when i go.

Yes, Released, I have one - thanks! I was told recently that at one time some members of the Governing Body would urge certain long-time, respected Bethel residents (or was it just one certain brother?) to "claim to be anointed" so they could then appoint them to positions otherwise not available to them.
Does he know about this? I have a particular brother in mind, who I'm told resisted their urging, feeling that he was not anointed and would not pretend. But any info on this would be fascinating.
And of course pass on to him what the others have said before me, that we appreciate so much what he's done for us all, and hope he's well; and what can we do for him?
