Well, I got the REAL story on the beating, I think...
by seeitallclearlynow inmy son went to visit the old friend who just got home from the hospital after having his face horribly beaten by an old enemy.
the story the old friend and his brother tell sounds much different than what we were first told...the first account was delivered by another former friend of my son's at the kingdom hall; so if you read my post about my son's childhood friend having been nearly beaten to death and left to die in an alley, sorry - it didn't exactly happen like that.
according to the one who had his jaw broken in several places (that part is very true), they were all hanging out at a party at a friend's house.

I Give Up - Where Can I Find Some Good Beef?
by seeitallclearlynow in.
folks, i know that good tasting steaks and ground beef exist - all the years of my youth and when i was raising my family, beef tasted great.
now no matter where i buy it, whole foods, ralph's kosher, black angus, etc, the beef tastes downright nasty.. vons has pretty good beef, and i haven't tried an actual meat market, but where do you find good beef?

"The Harmony of the Four Gospels" Musical Public Talk
by seeitallclearlynow inminimus mentioned in the "apostates are infiltrating the congregations" thread that the meetings used to be interesting, with skits and such, and you know, i had forgotten that!
but they were interesting many years ago!.
we had humorous skits and attention-getting skits, and a lot more slide presentations way back when.. so this made me think of a talk that was very highly requested in our area, titled above.

I had a chance to share some of the truth about the lie with my sister!
by seeitallclearlynow inyou may remember i had started a thread about those of you who had been pioneers before discovering the truth about the watchtower.
i was concerned about helping my 25-year pioneer sister to see the true light, as it were.
well, she's been visiting for about a week and a half, and i finally got to talk to her about a few things.... .

The Society's Videos
by seeitallclearlynow inwhat does everybody think of the various videos produced by the society?
i have one in particular in mind that i could not stand even while i was still "in".
had a really "bad attitude" when i tried to watch it in preparation for one of the service meetings in that series when they were covering some of the videos.

Has anyone ever personally written to the Society?
by seeitallclearlynow ini've been listening to marlene mercado's audio testimony on jwinfoline while reading and posting here today; and it reminded me that i had written to the society once, years ago, and i received a response.
the response made me angry with them, although they were agreeing with me on something that i was complaining about.
what made me angry was that they made no acknowledgment that they put a lot of pressure on the brothers to reach out and even after they have attained an office of oversight, a lot more pressure is put on the elders and servants to do more, do just so, etc....they claimed that it was my elder husband's own fault that he was barely ever home, and when he was, he was in his den or on the phone with someone who couldn't make any decisions on their own.
