perhaps i'm getting a little battle weary but i'm beginning to understand why certain long-time posters have bowed out from this forum and taken a long break from participating.

i've been here a while but don't post very often - when i do, it's usually because something has driven or inspired me.

i recently posted a genuine response only to get a (to me) sarcastic swipe back - this upset me somewhat and has had me reflecting on it over recent days.

i've been here a while but don't post very often - when i do, it's usually because something has driven or inspired me.

i recently posted a genuine response only to get a (to me) sarcastic swipe back - this upset me somewhat and has had me reflecting on it over recent days.

as an xjw, i feel compassion for those that are still entombed in the borganisation, but my net is cast wider and i want to make a difference to everyone by the small things i choose to say or do

i get the feeling though that at times i am within a louder group of individuals who are on a mission of destruction of the 'watchtower' - albeit understandable considering the extreme and negative effects the wt has had on us and millions of other's lives

however, the focus i personally want is on helping individuals rather than destroying the mega-pseudo-theocratic-book-publishing company

i understand that these two things can have a comfortable juxtaposition, but the hate-filled drive is wearing me down - am i alone in this ?

i tell you what, if men knew they had to get their testicles checked by a young nurse to look for disease the que at the doctors surgery would be round the block.. in fact what a good idea , lets go to my doctor to have them checked right now.. i hope it's doctor pricket (yes thats her real name)with the short skirts.. i've got a fasinating story to tell about the trouble my testicles got me into, i may tell it one day.

called upon to defend jehovah's witnesses.

hi metatron ... amnesty isn't about helping organisations, it's about helping people ... whether you agree with the tenets of any particular organisation or not, the people within it are still entitled to the same human rights as the rest of us

Did U find Sheperding Calls rude?

reading the lb thread "home but hiding" struck a chord with me.. i remember when i was inactive for the period of about a year the elders made a few "sheperding calls".. did anyone else out there find these very rude and condescending?.

first of all, in my case at least they always showed up unannounced.

how much do you think those "hell-ders" would like it if someone randomly dropped by their house unexpected?

hey reborn - my feelings too - why in hell don't they pick up the phone and ask for permission to call - like normal people would ?

i haven't associated for five years and went ahead and disassociated a few months back - i STILL get calls at my door, just never answer the door to them - if they picked up the phone and called me i'd happily speak to them

i guess the thing is, it's the system of the borganisation rather than the people in it that is at fault - control, control, control ... just like any other international corporate organisation with stuff to sell - however my product loyalty is too precious to waste on them ...

The exciting life of a witness.

i would like to appeal to all , to see the good side to being a witness.. look what kind of life style you'ed enjoy.. monday .get up 7:30am do days text , wash, breakfast out 8;30 drive to work.finish 5:00pm get home in rush hour trafic 6:00 .. make dinner 6:30 do washing up 7:00 , do study for tomorrows meeting + prepere talk 9:00 watch tv ,so nackered at 10:00 go to bed.. tuesday the same except get home at 6:00 make dinner do washing up and leave for meeting by 6:00 .home from meeting at 9:30 go straight to bed.. wednesday same as monday .

do book study for group and prepear well ,as taking the group.. thursday like tuseday except home at 8:30 this gives me one and a half hours to relax, watch telly , think about the bill for car repair that cam e this morning.. friday get home from work at 6:00 , skip dinner as meeting the group for magazine work.someone wants to take me on a call .get invited in don't leave untill 9:00.get a takeaway relax in front of telly , fall asleep in chair.. saturday oh good!

stay in bed till 8:30 then get ready to join the morning ministry.. home at 11:30 , make dinner .now have to sort all the bills and do all the house work, you know the house needs a paint as well, and also need to go shopping for food.

this draconian regime of strict obeyance was so much a part of my unhappy life for so long - and even though it hasn't been for the last five years, i still relish every moment of tuesday and thursday evenings and sunday mornings ... sigh ...
