How long does a person have to be dfd before they can ask for re-instatement? How long before they can become MS, Pioneers and etc. I am sure there is some written rule about this, which I now is not in the bible.

Details on Files Kept in the Cong.
by Blueblades inwhat exactly is put into the file on those who are disfellowedshipped?is the information very detailed,so that others can read such details,or is it just that they have been disfellowedshipped.. for example:suppose someone have been df.for a sexual matter,brother or sister.are the details descriptive of what was committed or is just that they were df.i know that on the outside of the envelope the name is posted and that's it.but if someone were to open the folder and look inside can they get the detailed information on that person?.
when do the elders destroy such folders?can a person who no longer wishes to come back get their records and destroy them themselves?.

Thanks for the information Maverick. Believe I know what you are saying. My ex divorce me, the congregation I moved to in another state had to dig into my background to make sure I did not do anything wrong before they could use me. The irony is when she started going back to the meetings in state several years ago before she stop going all togther, where the brothers knew me, no one came to me to see about what she had been up.. they welcome her back with open arms and "NO" publisher card, because she claim she could not remember what congregation she had been to. So as far the the privilage thing, I told them I long time ago they could keep it -- I am not going to be like a child where some one dangles some reward if front of my face and expect me a grown man to do what they want to have privilages-- they can keep the privilages

Thanks for the quick response -- This maybe it but I was looking for one where the mate confesses adultery to another mate and because there is not two witnesses the mate then writes a letter to the elders basically stating they are free to marry and they are willing to stand before Jehovah.

Attention to child molestation waning?
by avishai inwhen i first came on thie board, there was a lot of attention to it.
someone mentioned in another post peoples attention span in todays instant gratification society that when a subject is'nt in the media spotlight, it kinda goes away.
i want people to know that these court cases are still ongoing, & sometimes they take years to resolve.

Becuase Witness are afraid if the bring these bad things to light they will be removed from the congregation. Speaking out against the organization is a ground for disfellowshipping. This is why it is being kept quiet.......

Pleasing Jehovah or Pleasing the Congregation??
by worldlygirl ini was always annoyed with my ex for using the words "pleasing to jehovah" to describe certain actions.
in actuality, he an his family (and i suspect others as well) seemed to be much more concerned with pleasing other witnesses or members of their congregations.
as an outsider, it seemed to me that they were always looking for "loopholes" to get by with certain practices, as if they thought they could trick jehovah or that he wouldn't notice so long as they were not reproved or disfellowshipped.. my ex sister-in-law regularly spent the night with her boyfriend or he with her.

Sword of Jah this is where you are wrong -- my ex-wife adultery the elder who was the PO came over to my house heard her confession and never got a committee together -- that was 11 years ago -- even know she she is not going to the meetings and I hav presented evidence of wrong doing and all of the elders keep running away from the situation not wanting to handle it -- so please do not say the elders always form a committe when something is done wrong.....I .

? about the United Nations and WTS
by toreador indoes anyone know if a letter from the wts has been sent to the congregations about their being a member of the un as an ngo?
or has it just been told to the elders and then the rank and file hear about it if they ask the elders?
i know the wts said it was to get a library card but i need to know if there was actually a public announcement to the congregations about it..

Enough people in the organization will not question the WT being a part of the UN. The majority of the Witnesses are afraid to question the elders. I had an elder try to call me an apostate just for telling them I did not agree with a priniciples the "slave class" is trying to enforce in my situation. Of course since I know the bible I told him that even Abraham question the Almighty -- therefore there was nothing wrong with me questioning something from the society
