  first of all, i would like to thank everyone who responded to my first posting regarding the hidden images thing.

  i will admit that, after re-reading my initial post, i sounded like some sort of a paranoid alarmist, and i really did deserve the flack i received from some of you folks.. let me just say that there probably isn't a single x-jw who doesn't feel as though they have been duped to some degree with regard to the so-called "bible truth" they received while serving the organization.

  many x-jws firmly use the terms "manipulation", "fear", "deception", and even more .

  A Curiosity

  back in 1972 the wtb&ts published a new translation of the bible, "the bible in living english", otherwise known as byington's translation.. who was byington?.

  the publisher's note tells us that steven t byington was born in 1868 and studied languages at a university and a theological seminary.

  he was a member of the congregational church in massachusetts, usa and the translation was almost his lifetime's work.

  Thanks Alf for your observations. I am curious though, how in heck did you get copies of correspondence between Franz and Goodspeed? It would have to take an act of congress wouldn't it?

  did you leave the watchtower society and the true god ,too?.

  i believe that god still helps some of the of the ones still "traped" in the org.

  - god helped me greatly while i was still in.

  many persons express why they are angry toward the jw religion but what gets you depressed, just thinking about it, regarding the witnesses?

  Very touching story Dave! We are in a similar situation. If the WTS actually had the truth it would make a little bit more sense. Since the JW's actually believe they have the truth do we let them off the hook? If not, we try to do what we can to show people the truth about the truth. Sadly, this is often next to impossible with the amount of mind control they use.

  If you only read WTS publications one can easily see why most persons when trying to reason with a JW hit a brick wall when you bring up anything derogatory about the WTS. They immediately think apostate and shut their ears!

  i'm absolutely stunned by this.. a bunch of girls - well, 30-somethings anyway - down the pub have admitted to rubbing hemorrhoid cream around their eyes so as to look younger.. apparently, the salve's shrinking properties is great to reduce eye-bags and crows feet better than anything on the market.

  it's also extremely cheap compared to facial creams.. anusol rules!.

  my mother told me that her bookstudy overseer asked his group this question---"why do you think a mature brother in the truth would just suddenly leave and stop coming to meetings?

  any ideas?

  " the group gave different opinions and finally he gave what he thought could be the reasons.

  so, what do you think about the bible?

  is it really ispired of god?.

  i am strongly believing that the bible is nothing more than folk-tales, half-truths, and suggestions by man.
