  i have a question for those who do not believe in god.....how do you feel that life came to be?.

  i'm certainly not criticizing anyone's beliefs.

  i'm just trying to figure out what i believe and am curious about all viewpoints.. desi

  We are here, and that's it.

  We are only 100 years into the technological era and look at what we know. Give it a thousand years, if we last that long, and ask the same question again. How did life come about? It's easy as a Christian, we were created, it says so in a collection of books about 2000 years old. As a rational human being I'd like to be a bit more realistic - it's an academic question, how did life begin, why did the dinosaurs die out, what is dark matter? We are here, how we got here is academic. It's interesting, puzzling and one day some academy will figure it out, but I sure as hell am not going to think the future of my soul depends on how the first amino acids came into existence.

  Did You Ever Wish That The Truth Wasn't True?

  i did.. there wasn't any aspect of jwism that i actually really enjoyed apart from the "apres ski" when the meeting had ended.. meetings bored me silly.. i couldn't abide door to door work.. i never studied voluntarily, just a 5 minute skim the through the watchtower before the meeting started.. worst experience ever was door-knocking on christmas morning.

  god, i hated that!.

  as for the restrictions as to what you could and couldn't do....ye gods!.

  Growing up as a Dub, I always wished it wasn't true. Being dragged to meeting, ministry and Bible studies made me so frustrated and unhappy. As I grew older and being an elders son, I was prime target for accusations and gossip and was always being pulled up for unruly, unchristian like behaviour - Geez, if I'd have known then what I know now.

  does anyone else find the term "by jove" insulting ?.

  personally i find the use of such an abreviation makes my skin crawl - especially in the context it is normally used !

  You could tell if the anointed one was an alcoholic, because when at the memorial the wine was passed to him, he'd drain the glass and then hold it out for more.
