What goes around, comes around ...... both ways????
by outbutnotdown inwhen most people use that expression: "what goes around, comes around", it seems to be used more in a negative way.
for example, you find out bob just ripped off something small from work.
you and your co-worker don't necessarily want to rat on him so you use the famous "what goes around comes around" phrase.. but how often do we say it the other way around?

The end is near!

more about that on another tread.. anyway, some one came up to me and said, that these are "the last of the last days".
i nearly fell off my chair in laughter.. what funny sayings have you heard from dubs, describing the "last days".

So Gene Simmons says to the audience (I guess they must have quieted down quite a bit, since NONE OF THE EQUIPMENT IS WORKING), "There must be some Jehovah's Witnesses in the audience!"
i heard something similar about annie lennox (from the eurythmics), at a concert she came out on stage before the show started and asked any jehovah's witnesses in the audience to leave, because they weren't welcome and brought bad karma with them or something like that.

Good Afternoon, Jehovah! OOps, sorry, sorry....
by Englishman inoops.
"good afternoon jehovah" est verboten!
look, wt 15 march, 86:when individuals have the opportunity to speak to kings or rulers of this world, they usually do so respectfully and with dignity, highly appreciating the privilege.

What does God expect us to ask for in prayer?
by JH injesus said to pray continuously.
i don' pray anymore because nothing happens no matter what i ask.
ask for money, you won't get it because everyone wants money and it displeases god.. .

JW's and records
by frozen one inthis is a bit of an expansion on the above thread.... if memory serves (which is questionable), it seems that i read or heard that if a witness had employment which made them privy to files at work and if they saw something in the files that may be evidence of "wrong doing" that they were obligated to report the information to the elders.
for example, if a dub worked at a video store and saw that another witness had been renting r rated movies or (gasp) porn, the elders needed to know this.
or maybe a witness worked at a hospital and had access to medical files, the elders would need to know if anyone had been treated for vd, had a forbidden blood treatment, or if a sister had an abortion.

I don't know of any incidents first hand, but I am pretty sure it goes on. I am sure I have read something about it on JWD some time ago. I think it was in the context of JW's not being as honest as they make out, and that they would break the law or any confidentiality agreement if the society (or even elders) say so.
