Bad examples of intelligent design?

i am trying to think about examples of animals that would be bad for the intelligent design theory.
i like to use the ostrich because it has wings but doesnt fly.

IF everything was designed by intelligence, there is still no way we can know what that inteligence's design plan was, so there's no way we can know what is a good or bad example. We just assume that something is flawed because it looks that way to us, but we don't know if it really is, or if it was meant to be like that. IF it was designed of course.

i think they are swinging from using the word 'jehovah' all the time as well, and will start using plain old 'god' a lot more more... i noticed this on a recent assembly program, talking about 'obey god', but when i was a jw it would always have been 'obey JEHOVAH'

Why is chalk white?
by Qcmbr ini was reading some pro flood info and i came across an intriguing point regarding chalk - the fact that it is composed almost entirely of shells.
now i have no desire to start a pro flood blah blah debate.
this is a sincere non religious question for our marine biologists / geologists - why is chalk white and not layered with silt and sand?

Hi I wasn't referring to blackboard chalk - I was actually taking about the huge chalk deposits.If / as these are formed over millions of years how come they are so relatively pure?
well, it is assumed in nature that all blackboards are impure, hence the need for white chalk, even chalk that isn't for blackboards... this brings balance to the force.

War of the Worlds
by CaptainSchmideo insaw it last nite, very intense!.
the first part was particularly good, and felt real in the way the characters reacted:the father trying to get his kids out of the area, the kids acting like kids (the older one is slow and uncooperative, the younger one is a spaz and hysterical.
) dad gets pretty frustrated and trying to hold down the panic.

thought it was ok, but i didn't leave the theatre thinking 'wow'. i think it would have been better with a different lead actor. no offence to tom cruise but he just wasn't convincing to me in that role.

How can I open AOL attachments?
by AK - Jeff infor some reason my email browser will not let me do this.
it was the same with my previous computer, leading me to believe it is something to do with aol.
i am fairly computer able, but no techie - can someone tell me what i can do on my end to fix this, i have heard of others having the same problem.. thank you in advance -.

you could also try dragging the saved files into notepad... this usually tells you if it is a text based file and will show you all the text... if it isn't, you will just get a stack of code.
also, not sure if you did this function to check file types, but if you do this, you will see the extension, if it has one...
go to... Tools > Folder Options > View > (make sure the tab for 'hide extensions for known file types' is unchecked) - this will show you the file extension of all the files on your system.
it could be that the attachment is just the email in aol format (with rich text enhancements), and when you receieve you get the raw text, and the rich version as an attachment... i get that sometimes when people send me formatted emails and i open them with a basic email client, or one that has HTML disabled...
