personally i think its a good idea, because its INTERNATIONAL law that we're violating, and since the WTS is just a national corporation, i think it'll work =D i was thinking about that, and there's not really anything that the watchtower can do because they have substations, but they're only affiliated with each other and such. it'll work by god it'll work! all the UN has to break is their word...

SUGGESTED LETTER CAMPAIGN TO GET THE UN TO RELEASE THE WTS FILE
by hawkaw inthe pertinent information dealt with confirmation that a ngo by the name of the watchtower bible and tract society of new york , inc. (watchtower) held an ?associated ngo?
this may not seem as an important issue to the united nations.
1) a photocopy of the original 1991 letter from the watchtower to the dpi requesting an application form for ?associate ngo?

NGO Why then?
by confusedjw inwhat would be the *real* motive then, if not the library card, for the wtbts to become an ngo?
is it possible someone got confused or misinformed that they needed to become an ngo to continue with the library?
i can't for the life of me figure out the motive.

Thou shalt not stayeth at the Day's Inn
by RunningMan inand god spake unto his people, ?thou shalt not stayeth at the days inn?.

well, last week at my mother in law?s meeting, a letter was read, which was subsequently relayed to us (and any other heathens who might have transgressed the list of holy hotels).

most JW hotels weren't classy enough for me =D so i usually tried to stay at some expensive place. but when i was a kid my mom made me stay w/ her at the Howard Johnson motel. when we went swimming in the inside pool, there was a poopy floating around, it was gross. i went and scratched my skin off..... i'll never stay in a cheap hotel agian

not to be pesimistic, but don't you think they're already pissed off a tad about thousands of letters because of the WT? i mean, i know its not the UN's fault, so maybe we should write the governing body instead =D

How YOU Humiliate the Watchtower (4/1/04)
by metatron intake a good look at the april 1, '04 watchtower, with its garish 'wild beast' on the cover.. now, wouldn't this be a perfect opportunity to show a picture of the un building being .
destroyed at armageddon?
wouldn't be a good idea to blast the churches of christendom.

Its funny how they pulled out in October of 2001, a month after 9/11/01. Were they thinking of a polictical backlash, or that the "end" was here and they wanted no part of the destruction of the "wild beast". Or was it just a change in the hierarchy?
you gotta love british papers! they don't give a shit. The Watchtower pulled out of the DPI as soon as The London Guardian exposed them as hypocrit bitches....

Favorite Cars
by dustyb in.
i'm a youngster, so i don't like the old cars as much as i do the new cars.
my #1 favorite car is (any year) ferarri f50, but a 1993.5 toyota supra comes close.......

the car that gave me my personal definition of "exhibition of acceleration" and "speeding"......(those 'kids' today in those little plastic cars they think are so impressive just can't compete)
i guarantee that a supra that i've drove before can keep up with it =D

Since leaving how have you changed?
by Joysome inwhat do you find yourself doing differently?.
do you ever feel a little shocked when your opinions on certain things have changed?
things that you were once so adamantly against?.

when i first left, it took me awhile, but i finally grew the balls to talk to people and actually do stuff. now i'm really liberal and i couldn't give two shits about anything unless somebody needs my assistance or anything i can provide. i did a lot of things when it sank in a few years later.....

Need some advice/input for a possible "showdown."
by robhic ini asked my jw girlfriend some questions a while back that she was unable to answer so i gave her cites from wts literature to backup my assertions.
i could see a glimmer of confusion that maybe i had a point.
now she wants me to just have a nice little chat with her good pioneer friend (black lady, very nice in her mid 50's) to ask the questions so that someone more knowlegeable can take a shot at my queries.. so my question is how should i go about this informal little chat?

my stupid 19 year old suggestion is to see how much knowledge you have in common between doctrines and practices and changes over the years. if she's been a JW all her life, then she should know most of what you know. and when you push her to the limit, go a bit further and ask her questions that she doesn't know and then quit............

i believe we are also confusing matter and energy here. from when i studied energy, there were two types, kinetic and stored (i don't know the spiffy word for it). so technically energy can't be destroyed because its either stored up, or its in motion. humans themselves are matter, which can evaporate into air. but all of that is just conversions done with the use of energy from the matter. geez i'm too tired to think right now like this..........
