Well I wouldn?t want to be a netball?sorry basketball player; they look ridiculous in those long shorts and you have to be so tall and lanky, its not natural. I would like to be a musician, but not of the sell out ?Pop Idol? variety then can all go and get bent. I think though after careful consideration I would rather just take the money and run, fame you can keep it.

Would you rather be a sports star or a rock star?
by Dustin ini was thinking the other day, if i could choose to be an awesomely gifted basketball player, or an awesomely gifted singer/guitar player; which would it be?
in the end i decided i'd rather be a rock star.
better parties, and definitely more of a bad boy image.

Classism in America?
by under74 ini recently had an experience at school where i felt like the one odd poor class in the room.
the conversation started with homelessness and then gravitated to poor people in general.
there were a lot of weird and false assumptions laid out like "those people walk hunched over" and " they" .....well you get the picture.

In the States I get the impression that if you have the money you can belong to whatever group you choose. Which I don?t agree with.
Some of the aristocracy in the UK would see you as a peasant even if you owned half the world. It?s all about breeding, inbreeding more like! -

I think that in Britain we just have a more sceptical view of authority. In some ways this is good in other ways bad.

"Any new teams to reccomend?" WHAT!!!
Football can?t be taken too seriously over there if you can chop and change your team. Or are you just joking?
Over here your likely to be strung-up for such disloyalty. -

by holly ini know there are mostly ex jw's on here.

are there any jws on here who still believe its all the truth, go to meetings and trust the organisation?.

Holly,
I was a jw from the age of 16 until my early 30?s. I stopped initially to regain my sanity and health intending to go back. Thing is once I saw the organisation from a distance things changed and I gradually started to see it in a new light and this new light didn?t come from Brooklyn.
No wonder the organization makes a big thing about immersing yourself in the truth, the whole thing is a treadmill designed to keep your mind from wandering and your body tired.
Do I have doubts about my decision? Not deep down, but you cant escape from some of the conditioning you received from parents, family, friends and indoctrinators.
Have I joined another religion? No, I have looked into a few but they all seemed to be flawed in one way or another, if the society teaches one thing well its how to see faults in other religions. I still believe in God but my religion at the moment is more of the hug-a-tree variety. -
