  My Christmas wish for Y'all....

  i wish everyone here a holiday filled with love, happiness, warm memories and good times.

  so many of us have gone through really rough times with things that have happened in our lives, and i hope that everyone here can one day be fully healed from our pasts, so that we can go into the future happily, with full, rewarding lives, with our pasts and obstacles we have faced only being distant memories of days gone by.. i wish for a time when families join together, and not become separated or influenced by an organization, or anyone else.

  this is a season of hope, and all things are possible.. wishing everyone the bestest of the best!!!.

  never in my life have i ever seen it snow around christmas time where i live.

  it's just a little and it will likely only collect a bit on the grass... but if we're lucky we will get to have a (sorta) white christmas morning!

  Follow the Star All the Way to Bethlehem

  the report below serves as an excellent example of the shallow understanding that people in general have regarding the so-called "star of bethlehem".

  notice that the "star" is held in awe ... some sort of an object that satan himself caused to glow in the dark in order to cause the premature death of jesus.

  satan's worst nightmare is jesus, was back then, and still is.

  I don't remember you having had a share in that discussion. Perhaps you'd like to locate that thread, so as to share your thoughts about THAT subject ... in THAT thread rather than this one. Or is it that you just enjoy being cockamamie?

  Geez...Schismszzzz...getting a little touchy ? It's probably the time of year, maybe you need some daylight or WTlight?

  I think Stephanie is entitled to an opinion about that thread and that subject anywhere she wants. Me, too! Why ? Because you consistantly "hit and run" with your answers. You have NEVER explained HOW a man, Lot, or any man can "have God's blessing" and be guilty of incest at the same time!

  After all, doesn't God condemn such things in the Old Testament ?????

  I would really LOVE to see you answer this impossible scenario !

  "Brainwashing" does not exist

  the term "brainwashing" is sometimes thrown around this forum and i thought i'd briefly comment on it.

  the idea that a group or person can actually make you think, act and feel in a certain way is highly dubious.

  i'm not saying it's impossible, but i highly doubt that any ex-jws have ever experienced "brainwashing.

  The colloqueal definition of brainwashed brings to mind someone who is not in control at all and has gone through highly unusual means to get that way.

  I have never thought of it that way. It always seemed a bit "Sci-Fi." The dictionary definition is the way I always thought. The most important thing is NOT that a person is forced to think a certain way, they are forcibily persuaded. A very big difference. I believe the WTS and ALL other religions, as well as political beliefs do use a manner of 'brainwashing.'

  To use an extreme example: We all have heard of the innocent little Muslim Palestinen children that from the beginning are taught to fear God's wrath and hate Jews and all non-Muslim people, especially the people of the "Great Satan"...America. They go thru chants in school to block out any logic or questioning their own brains may have. "Allahu Akbar" (God is Great) over and over and over. Up and down the streets, in the class room, at home and ...pulling the trigger on guns, rocket launchers and suicide bombs.

  How were WE taught to 'wash' out 'bad' thoughts we might have as Witnesses...? Jehovah - Jehovah - Jehovah !

  Yes, we allow it. Yes...SOME of us can stop it. I don't know if it's that 'we' are wired differently than other Witnesses, because 'we' are out and they aren't. I tend to believe that people that start having doubts about a long-standing, major belief system...have to be jolted by something. It has to get personal. THAT helps us start to 'think outside the box'.

  Without the slow methodical persuasive, "Carrot & Stick" approach, a child would never 'willingly' blow himself and others up with a suicide vest. Their parents would not 'normally' be proud and happy that their innocent child is now a murderous martyr.

  Catholics across the world see themselves living in poverty, partly because, they believe the Pope is the 'voice' of God. A god who thinks any form of birth-control is a sin. So they have a dozen or so kids.

  Jehovah's Witnesses, would not be willing to let themselves or their children die from blood loss, unless they have first accepted that the GB is God's only voice. And fear God's wrath and everlasting death, that's the stick. The carrot is a peaceful, perfect life on a Paradise earth, where our beloved relatives and friends...will come back to life.

  I went Christmas shopping for the first time since I was 12 years old. Even tho' I've not been to meetings in 5 years...I would still get little 'flashes' of my WT trained conscience...telling me...condemning me for what I was doing. I just said...out loud, "No ! The Watchtower Society does NOT rule me ! Christmas-Christmas-Christmas! I felt MUCH better. And no, I don't believe in Christmas.I can't figure out why people were staring at me, I mean don't they do the same thing ??

  Remember the scripture, "Bring up a boy according to the way for him and he will not depart from it." Something like that.

  Familiarity: Do you know why...certain types of music really get under your skin ? Classical, western...rap (ewww..) it is according to a study...your brain has been 'imprinted' usually as a child to certain sound rthyms & patterns and it 'resists' changes. We can learn to accept new changes, over time.

  I don't believe we can be forced to think, but, we can sometimes be forced to act. People can be coerced, tortured, DF'd. These thing can put social pressure on us to try and force us to act certain ways.

  That's my story and I'm stickin' to it !

  What I care about is seeing you explain Lot's incestous relationship with his daughters? And...HOW according to the Bible, he remained a "Holy Man" who continued to be 'blessed' by God, despite this abuse ??

  Uh oh, we got caught

  we are so busted.

  i learned tonight, from my source, that someon saw our christmas tree and reported it to the elders.. rats, our days of anonymity are likely almost over.

  starting tuesday, the local congregation has the circuit and the district overseer, before their ca next weekend.

  Well, We have a little Christmas tree set up, too. You can't see it from the street, but, if they come on the porch they can. I was planning on blaming "that woman that was given to me" she...made me do it. See...she's never been a Witness, s-e-e... That DID work for Adam...didn't it ?

  yes, i tolerated a secret fault concerning blood.

  i have never told anyone about it until this day.

  now i am telling you.. as i recall, sometime in the 80's (or maybe late 70's) we were told to check our pet's food for animal by-products.
