  don't you think the witness leaders would have given up the blood doctrine and 1914 by now had not apostates made such big things of them?

  haven't they been painted into a bit of a corner where, if they tried to adjust things on blood now, everyone would come down on them like a ton of bricks?

  if apostates were not so vigilant in watching the witnesses' every move, perhaps the governing body would have tried to drop the dubious doctrines by the back door, like so many others that they have discarded when they did not feel to closely watched (organ transplants, for example).

  I'm very sorry, too that my Mom's death, due to the Watchtower's blood policy is such, as you say "big deal" to me. Us apostates...blood guilty for the WT's policies ?? You make me sick !

  I also don't for a minute believe you were "pulling our legs" on this and just "having fun." You were 'back-peddling' from the pressure of us 'apostates'...see how that works ?

  By the way, this is not a 'funny' subject, it's not one of those things to troll around with and 'pull legs'...many of us have experienced very personal losses of friends and family, because of the GB's deadly edicts. I tend to think that's a "big deal," don't you ?

  *My grandparents met Judge Rutherford. My kids are JW's. My grandkids are being brought up as JW's ! Enough ! I don't want to attend my kids or grandkids funerals, because of this idiotic blood issue...understand ?

  for those of yall that didn't know, kristi was a 37-yr-old ms patient that i took care of for the last year of her life.

  she had a wonderful ribald sense of humor and talked like a sailor at times.

  but it was all to cover up the ultra-sweet and tender heart she had.

  Demonic possession in Bible times.....humm

  back in jesus day there were so many people , according to the bible who were possesed by demons.

  now it is understood that many of these people who were "demon possessed" were really suffering from illnesses, physical or mental.

  i wonder how many people in all religions today claim to be demon possessed?

  That is a perfect recipe for demon possession, ya' know. But, fear not fellow apostates...when we separated she got custody of the little demon.

  LyinEyes, I never got a satisfactory answer from the Elders about that either. They always looked at me a little funny when I said, "That demon possession sounds a lot like a grand mal seizure."

  2005 Barbecue Is Definitely On!

  saturday seems to be much preferred over sunday, so this years bbq will be held on saturday, july 9th, commencing around 2 pm.

  location is our home in weston super mare.

  as usual, the day will be very boozy and proceedings will conclude in the waverley pub.

Crumpet seemed to start this thread out of fear and to let people know what's going on. This is or should be about dead and injured people, blown up while innocently going about their lives by unseen terrorists. And about the survivors and our friends who luckily not in the wrong place at the wrong time

  I think there is plenty of time to argue politics & religion later. Sometimes some of you make me sick.

  I am so sorry for all you and your countrymen are going thru today, it is truly a sad commentary of how inhumane humans can be. I wiped my eyes several times reading thru all of this while watching it on TV in the safety of my home. Don't ever be sorry for tears, with all the uncertainty, fear, worry for friends and loved ones and your very peace being taken away -- all of you are entitled to tears.

  And anger. I read your 'rant' to my wife...she cheered your words as I and many others did.

  My knowing people personally or just thru the board that are in that area sure brings home the reality.

  To all of you in the UK, and the friends and relatives of the workers, tourists and other innocents killed or injured...you have our sympathy.

  Gays and the Bible.

  first of all.....i ain't bashin gays here......just have a question.. this morning i read in the paper that the united church of christ has unanimously approved of same sex marriage.

  this now is the largest protestant sect who has approved of gay marriages.. my question is.......how does religion justify a way of life the bible condems as sinful?

  what is their scriptural argument to justify this action as proper?.

  First off, homosexuals have my complete support to live and love whom ever they want, in any way they want. I do not believe religion has the right to dictate how people should feel as far as sexual orientation.

  Now, "How" do they (the churches) justify it ? They all either interpret it differently or ignore certain parts. Nothing new there !

  I question the very 'basis' of what constitutes 'scripture.' I have that right. Why/how...? Simple. Throughout the Bibles' history, a man or groups of men have decided which scrolls were 'holy' and which ones weren't. I don't remember the name of the religious leaders meeting that occured about 200 AD, but, THESE guys decided which books got into todays Bible. Stuff that didn't make the cut has surely been lost or thrown away as unimportant. We don't have a clue what may be missing.

  So-o...since I didn't know these guys, nor the writers of the Bible books...I have the right to call into question every single sentence within it. Just like they did. Everyone has that right to pick and choose. Nobody can possibly prove that the entire Bible or even a part of it is 'inspired or holy'. Scientifically, many 'Bible' truths CAN be proven false.
