many thousand years ago, jesus expelled demons in people.

do you think it's possible today that people, maybe you or i, may have one or more demons in us, controling us to a certain extent?

Funky D: Demons used to cause epileptic seizures, but they don't need to do that anymore since it was discovered they could be caused by a neurological impairment instead.

Silly boy...demons don't cause seizures, they have seizures !

See, my neurologist thinks it's me that has epilepsy, but, I know better...it's really my own personal demon I picked up at that garage sale. (The one at the x-dubs house where I bought that Playboy -- for the interesting articles)

Gawd...these doctors are like SO dumb...sheesh !

We need a polling feature here -- they can just read that. I been afraid to use those on-line polling stations, you know with all the worms n' stuff going around.

Anyway, I vote, "Yes." But only if they wanna get married. Geez...ya' can't force peeps to do stuff they're not comfortable with.

well, we were going about our business today as we usually do on a monday.

mrs kwin went to work, kids went to school, i stayed home and made apple sauce and beer.

2:30 comes along and it's time to pick up everyone and, oh yeah ... we have that appointment today.

If it was me, I think I'd like an apology with the Counselor(s) present.

The article about "Mary" should be read by the the receptionist and her superiors. They should "study" (heheh) it with her and ask very pointed questions: "Would YOU 'turn somebody in' to your church, if you learned they were violating some WT rule ?"

The answers she gives will tell them what they need to know..."Is she trustworthy ?" "Is she a liability ?" Let them decide.

If you ask for her job to be taken away, it may happen, because they fear litigation. If you ask and she loses her job, she and every JW that hears about it...will fear so called 'apostates' even more. Their 'persecution complex' will go into high gear and they will believe, no matter how illogical it is...that this somehow 'proves they are Jah's chosen ones...'

Like the song goes: You don't always get what you want, you don't always get what you want... But, sometimes...you get what you need.

did you ever go to the service group and be assigned to the different car groups.....and then....the sister that is assigned to go with you...decline and say...'i am just going by myself today and do my return vistits by myself'..... damn, i should have complained about that one!

I was a fully dedicated, full of 'spirit' full-time regular pioneer for 3.5 years PRE 1975. There was nothing 'weak' about my dedication. Likewise, there is nothing 'weak' about my leaving the WT and being able to admit I was wrong about my beliefs in the past.

I asked you several questions...you haven't answered any of them. Why ? This is a discussion board -- so discuss ! Please don't just keep coming back with WT 'sayings', I am way too familiar with any you will come up with...it's called 'parroting'.

Now...put your 'thinking cap' on and give us all some detailed answers, detailed proof of why you believe what you do. Who knows...you might 'save' one of us. But, it will take details.

It's very hard for me to accept that kind of "Christian Love™", for me, it is far beyond 'hurt feelings or being stumbled', so, try to be understanding.

I understand some of the hurt that most of you talk about, ive felt the same things you have fett, the same hurt, but i make it a matter of prayer in leave in in Jehovah's hands that he will take care of the matter in HIS OWN DUE TIME and not my own. You know what the sad thing is about those who turn APOSTAT.... they can never return nor are the desired anylonger by Jehovah.

I am one of those who have been hurt by certain beliefs & policies of the Watchtower. I was baptised 32 years ago and in my opinion, my entire family has suffered also. I am not disfellowshipped or disassociated, but, I do "forsake the gathering of ourselves together". If you really want to know how and why I cannot force myself to go to meetings -- please ask.

But, please be nice. I have to let you know...when you come into ANY room and start YELLING at people you don't know...calling them dogs & pigs...it looks less than "christ-like."

So-o, what is it that bothers you about 1914 ? What other things have bothered you ? Have you talked to the Elders about your concerns ? Did their answers satisfy you ?

And... a very big question...what is your definition of "apostate?" Where is it you think "apostates" go ?

there was a poster on jwd that left her email address in a post.

she was clearly a study, not yet baptized.

she was on jwd, so it sounded like she might be open to a maybe-they-don't-have-the-truth sort of discussion.. i emailed her my birthday write up with a note explaining that i didn't think the watchtower "lied" (as was mentioned in the jwd post she was responding to), but that they made disengenuous comments in order to keep people in the organization, sincerely believing that it was necessary for them to please god.. she responded, thanked me for the note, and said that she had stumbled onto jwd by accident, looking for an online copy of the km.

Yeah...the creepy thing is I heard exactly the same words from one of my kids that previously had been shunning me. We had started getting close again and even tho' I was being careful...I said something that triggered a JW brain fart. Nothing was said right away, but, after talking to the Mom (X wife) + (uber dub)...I got a 'Dear John letter' saying I was 'apostate'...then, the exact quoted words above.

Makes ya' think...

Watchtower Gives Up Explaining 607 BCE Date!

this is a very important observation, that the watchtower has not tried to explain in print why 607 bce is the year for the destruction of jerusalem for the last 17 years!!!.

all that the watchtower has done over most of the last two decades is to repeat over and over the year "607bce" in its publications as if it is an unquestioned fact!.

the last time an explaination for the year was attempted by the watchtower was in 1988 when the "insight" volumes were published, but since then, no explaination for the validity of the year has appeared in print.. this must mean something, but what?
